London Evening Standard/Ian Gibb - Calvin Andrew ready to laugh at Neil Warnock's expense
- The irony won't be lost on Calvin Andrew if Crystal Palace give Queens Park Rangers a push towards relegation on Saturday.
- Neil Warnock left Palace for what he perceived to be a bigger club but his new side are in trouble after their 4-0 thrashing at Leicester.
- Andrew said: “It would definitely be ironic. And by the look of things, from their result, it's on the cards.”
- Asked if he would smile if it happened, the striker admitted: “Yes, I would . . . a little, cheeky one!”
- Andrew scored in the 3-1 victory over Preston that lifted his team out of the bottom three and if they win at home to QPR they will jump above the club Warnock decided had more ambition than administration stricken Palace.
- Andrew, signed by Warnock, finished off Preston after strikes from Neil Danns and 19-goal Darren Ambrose had turned round a 1-0 deficit. Boss Paul Hart said: “Calvin is astonishing in his work rate, desire to get about the pitch, win headers and put people under pressure.”

QPR boss Neil Warnock admits that his side need to 'muck in' over the coming weeks if they are to secure their Championship status following the R's 4-0 defeat at Leicester City.
On a disappointing afternoon for the Hoops, goals from the lively Martyn Waghorn (2), Andy King and Steve Howard gave the Play-Off chasing Foxes maximum points at the Walkers Stadium.
"I'm disappointed. The first two goals were absolutely diabolical and it just showed one or two deficiencies up," Warnock told http://www.qpr.co.uk./
"We've got five games to go and nobody is safe, we know that.
"We've got Crystal Palace away on Saturday which is a difficult game, but then we've got three out of four home matches to finish on."
Warnock added: "I think that Steve Howard had a bit too much for us today with his nous, and Martyn Waghorn showed his class.
"After the third goal, you just wanted the whistle to go. I'd really like to be in Leicester's position.
"If Leicester don't go up it'd be nice to come back with a team that would give them a right good game and play football in the right way.
"I think we do need some more players but we need to muck in with what we've got and make sure we get sufficient points.
"It's a really exciting prospect (next season) but it's not very nice at the moment.
"Since I've been at the Club we've lost two, and I believe we could have won every game we've played - that's how tight the League is." QPR
SPORTING LIFE - Nigel Pearson - doubts City could afford striker.
Leicester manager Nigel Pearson admits the Foxes are unlikely to be able to sign striker Martyn Waghorn on a permanent basis.
Waghorn, on a season-long loan from Sunderland, scored twice to bring his tally for the campaign to 11 as City hammered QPR 4-0 to notch their first win in six games.
Pearson said: "Waghorn's been a great loan signing. He's doing very well for us. It has been a good experience for him here and I know he's enjoying himself.
"But if I were Sunderland why would I want to sell him? And there is a question mark against if we could afford him anyway."
Waghorn said: "I've been asked by Leicester fans all season if I'll be staying. I love it at Leicester but we will have to wait and see what happens in the summer.
"I haven't spoken to (Sunderland manager) Steve Bruce about the situation, we will just have to wait and see what happens."
Waghorn added to Andy King's opener in the 45th minute when he pounced on a weak clearance by visiting goalkeeper Carl Ikeme and guided the ball into an unguarded net from 35 yards.
He made it 3-0 five minutes after the break when Richie Wellens won possession in midfield and knocked the ball forward to Waghorn who stepped inside before curling a superb left-foot shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
Michael Morrison dinked in a cross for Steve Howard to flick home a header from six yards to complete the rout.
Waghorn added: "A hat-trick today would have been nice. I had a couple of other chances but the result is the main thing.
"Hopefully our blip is now over and everything will be fine and we'll be okay for the play-offs."
The Foxes are one point clear of seventh-placed Blackpool.
QPR manager Neil Warnock was disappointed to lose the game after his side dominated possession in the first half.
He said: "Believe it or not I'm disappointed we didn't win the game, which might sound a bit silly and as if I was a character out of 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest'.
"But their first two goals were absolutely diabolical and showed the hard work we are going to have to put in.
"And then after their third goal went in we were just waiting for the final whistle to go."
Warnock added: "I hope Leicester go up. I like Nigel Pearson and this is a great stadium. But if they don't make it, it would be nice to come back here with a different team next season and give them a right good game.
"We don't have enough physical presence at the moment. I think if we had Steve Howard and Martyn Waghorn, we might have won the game." Sporting Life

The excruciating back pain recently suffered by Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is nothing compared to the agonies endured by the club's fans during a poor sequence of four successive defeats.
Happily, for the supporters at least, their pain relief arrived in emphatic fashion as QPR's relegation fears deepened at the Walkers Stadium.
Andy King's close range finish eased tensions early on although had QPR demonstrated a cutting edge they might have translated overwhelming possession into goals.
As it was, a glaring error by Carl Ikene allowed Martyn Waghorn to sweep the ball in to an empty net from 40 yards out, a scuffed clearance and an embarrassing farewell gift for the on-loan Wolves goalkeeper.
Waghorn's second was an impressive left foot shot into the roof of the net and only the crossbar denied the on-loan Sunderland forward his hat trick before a trademark Steve Howard header completed the rout and kept his team one point ahead of Blackpool in the final play-off place.
A weekend of disparate venues beckons as Leicester travel to relegated Peterborough while Blackpool play away to Newcastle. It is no less intriguing for QPR whose manager Neil Warnock makes the short journey back to Crystal Palace, the club he left in the relegation mire last month" Telegraph

Pearson's side remain on course to seal a play-off place
Leicester ended a run of four straight defeats with a win over struggling QPR that keeps them in the play-off places.
Leicester were ahead after five minutes when Steve Howard headed down a cross for Andy King to tap in from six yards.
Martin Waghorn made it 2-0, passing into an unguarded net from 30 yards after QPR keeper Carl Ikeme fluffed a kick straight to the on-loan striker.
Waghorn curled in a superb second from 25 yards just after the break and Howard headed in to complete the rout.
The Foxes' confident victory was in marked contrast to their previous four matches, all of which ended in defeat - and it ensured they preserved their play-off place, with seventh-placed Blackpool winning 2-0 at home to Doncaster on Monday.
Despite four successive draws offering hope that a corner had been turned at QPR, they remain in trouble only three points above the relegation zone and on the strength of this performance face a nervous end to their campaign.
However, despite the early setback of King's goal, QPR showed some fight and were not without their chances in the first half, with Lee Cook's goal-bound effort denied by a sliding block from Wayne Brown, home keeper Chris Weale saving a long-range Adel Taraabt shot and Hogan Ephraim sending an overhead kick over the bar.
They also had the ball in the net in the 35th minute when Jay Simpson deflected Mikele Leigertwood's 25-yard strike into the net, but the former Arsenal striker was ruled to be offside.
However, the second goal - resulting from a shocking miss-kick from Ikeme, which fell to Waghorn who found the empty net for his 10th goal of the season - was a decisive blow.
His second goal, and the home side's third, was simply magnificent as he picked up the ball 30 yards out and beat a man before curling in a dipping shot that struck the underside of the bar on it's way into the goal.
Any hopes QPR had of gaining a foothold in the match evaporated when Simpson missed two good chances just before the hour, firstly snatching at a shot from 15 yards and putting it wide before seeing a close range effort saved by the legs of Weale.
Waghorn was twice denied his hat-trick in the space of the same move when his 25-yard free-kick struck the bar and then Ikeme tipped the midfielder's volley wide of goal.
But there was plenty of time left for the home side to add a fourth through Howard's well-placed header after the away side had been denied a consolation when Taraabt's shot struck a post. BBC

Martyn Waghorn capped a fine individual display with two goals as promotion contenders Leicester City sealed a comfortable win over QPR at the Walkers Stadium.
City took the lead as early as the 5th minute. Paul Gallagher's cross was nodded down by Steve Howard into the path of Andy King, who tucked the ball into the bottom corner of net.
The R's looked to be heading into the break just a goal down before a mistake from Carl Ikeme gifted the Foxes with a second, as Waghorn capitalised on a sliced clearance to finish into an unguarded goal.
And the hosts maintained their momentum after half-time. First Waghorn curled home a beautiful effort that went in off the bar, before Howard nodded home Michael Morrison's cross for the fourth.
Neil Warnock made just a single alteration to the QPR side for the trip to face the Foxes, with Tamas Priskin making way for Lee Cook in a 4-4-1-1 formation.
Ikeme was in goal for the R's in his final appearance for the Club before he returns to Wolves following the end of his loan spell in W12.
Peter Ramage, Damion Stewart, Kaspars Gorkss and Matt Hill made up the backline for Rangers.
Skipper Mikele Leigertwood and Alejandro Faurlin started in holding roles in midfield, with Hogan Ephraim and Lee Cook deployed further forward out wide.
Adel Taarabt played just off Jay Simpson in attack.
Amidst the blustery conditions at the Walkers Stadium, only five minutes had gone before City raced into an early lead.
Gallagher received the ball on the right-hand side before he sent a delicious, in-swinging cross into the path of Howard.
The big striker used all of his experience to hold off his marker before he nodded the ball into the path of King, who guided the ball home into the bottom corner from 12-yards out.
Undeterred, Rangers immediately went out in search of an equaliser to restore parity.
Taarabt received the ball midway into the Foxes half before he drove at the Leicester defence and fashioned a weak shot that went straight at Chris Weale in the hosts' net.
Soon after, Leigertwood won the ball with a superb challenge in midfield before he passed to Taarabt, who looked up before sliding a tremendous through ball into the path of Cook on the right.
Just as it looked as though the midfielder was about the smash an effort goalwards from the edge of the box, Bruno Berner's timely sliding intervention took the ball out for a corner.
Moments later, Faurlin sent a sweeping pass out wide to Ramage, who controlled before delivering a dangerous cross that looked certain to be heading to a QPR man before Morrison came across to head the ball away for a corner.
Both sides were enjoying an equal amount of possession, though it was Rangers who were creating more opportunities.
This time, a cutting through ball sent Simpson free down the left, who cut the ball back to Taarabt around 25-yards out before the Spurs loanee shot straight at Weale.
The R's thought they had found a leveller just short of the break, with Leigertwood's powerful drive from 30 yards deflecting off Simpson before finding the net.
However Simpson, unfortunately for the visitors, was deemed by the assistant official to be in an offside position.
Moments later, Taarabt picked up possession on midway before passing to Cook who, from 25-yards out, smashed a shot straight into the arms of the Leicester keeper.
Taarabt then received the ball on the left before sending in a brilliant centre to an unmarked Ephraim. With his back to goal, the winger attempted a lobbed shot over the advancing Weale that dropped just over the crossbar for Rangers.
On the stroke of half-time, disaster struck for the R's.
Wayne Brown's long punt up field looked to be heading safely into the path of the Ikeme, who rushed out of his penalty area to deal with the ball.
The R's keeper made a hash of his clearance, however, and when the ball fell to Waghorn 35 yards from goal, he stayed calm to steer the ball into an empty net.
Leicester wasted little time in adding a stylish third goal just five minutes after the break.
Richie Wellens dispossessed Taarabt in the Foxes' half before driving past halfway and feeding Waghorn 30 yards from goal.
The Sunderland loanee took the ball into his stride before he opened his body and curled home a beautiful shot that smashed against the underside of the bar before finding the goal.
The hosts then almost instantly added a fourth.
Howard and King combined on the edge of the box to feed Waghorn in the area, who dragged an effort wide of the right-hand post when under pressure from the QPR defence.
Play then switched to the other end. A ball from deep found Simpson on the edge of the box, who flicked the ball over his marker before firing straight at Weale as the keeper came rushing off of his goal-line to thwart the frontman.
Leicester were firmly in control, though, with Waghorn in inspired form for the hosts.
After the Foxes won a free-kick from 30-yards out, the striker stepped up to fire in a ferocious shot that cannoned off the crossbar and back into play.
The ball bounced around in the R's box before the ball was cleared only as far as Waghorn, who had remained outside of the area, and he took a touch before forcing a fine diving save from Ikeme.
Rangers then went within inches of pulling one back. Taarabt once again picked the ball up in midfield before he drove at the Foxes defence and blasted a low shot against the foot of the right-hand post that went out of play.
Leicester were soon back on the attack and added number four with just 12 minutes remaining.
Morrison picked up possession on the right before sending over a cross into the direction of Howard, who made no mistake to nod home past Ikeme to rubber stamp the win.

- Steve Gallen spoke of his pride after seeing his Under 18s reach the Semi-Finals of the Trofeo Sardegna before losing to Slavia Prague in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
- After qualifying from their group in second place, the R's faced the Azerbaijan national side in the Quarter-Finals, and won 5-2 on penalties after a goalless draw against one of the tournament favourites.
Rangers keeper Elvijs Putnins saved a staggering three spot-kicks as he did his bit to help his team reach the Semi-Finals.
Ina hectic schedule, which had seen QPR play two games on Saturday, the Semi-Final took place less than 24 hours later against Slavia Prague.
The R's stormed into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Elliott Cox and Luke Olley. Unfortunately they were pegged back, however, with Prague's equaliser coming in the final minute of the match.
Following the 2-2 draw, QPR faced another penalty shoot-out, this time losing 4-2.
- Gallen was understandably upbeat following the tournament.
- Speaking from the team's training camp in Sardinia, he told www.qpr.co.uk: "The lads have been absolutely magnificent.
"I couldn't be prouder of them. Their attitude and discipline has been outstanding.
"When you look at the teams we have faced in this tournament, you can understand why I am so proud of the boys.

Azerbaijani football team loses to English Queens Park Rangers
The youth football team of Azerbaijan (U-19) completed participation in Trofeo Sardegna in Italian Olbia.
According to News.Az, after the victory over Turin Juventus (1:0) and Olympic from Marseilles (in the penalty series) our team reached the quarterfinal where it played English Queens Park Rangers. The main half ended 0:0 but the British team was successful in the after-match penalties.
The Azerbaijani team is out of the game but it will hold a friendly match with another famous opponent-German Bayer from Leverkusen. http://www.news.az/articles/12566

- Former Leicester and QPR striker Les Ferdinand believes City's example is the blueprint Rangers need to follow to revive their fortunes as a force.
The two teams go head-to-head in an Easter Monday Championship clash at the Walkers Stadium, as ships sailing in different directions this season.
City have continued their resurgence under the stewardship of Nigel Pearson, who could yet lead the team to a second successive promotion and the Premier League through the play-offs.
Rangers are still not completely safe from relegation and are on their third permanent manager of the season in Neil Warnock, who was appointed last month after walking out on Crystal Palace.
The Loftus Road club have gone through 11 managers since Hoops hero Ferdinand left the club where he made his name in 1995, and that is not including six caretakers.
The club owners have had seven permanent bosses since taking over in August 2007 and the last one to vacate the chair, Paul Hart, lasted six weeks in the job.
City chairman Milan Mandaric went through five in 15 months himself until settling on Pearson in the summer of 2008.
By then the unthinkable had happened – relegation to the third tier for the first time in the club's history.
But the Foxes have been on the up and up ever since the current incumbent breezed through the door, and Ferdinand believes it is no coincidence a settled set-up has led to success on the pitch.
He said: "Every club you ever speak about that has had success, the one thing they all seem to have had is stability.
"QPR haven't had that in the last few years, and Neil Warnock is only a step in the right direction if they manage to keep hold of him for a few years.
"If it's another case of six months, results are not going right and they get rid of him, it's not the right step.
"Nigel Pearson has come into Leicester and given the club that stability, consequently the club now seem to be heading in the right direction.
"I am certainly hoping QPR take heed of Leicester's example, and can emulate that success."
With City fans daring to dream of life back in the Premier League, Ferdinand can relate to the experience has one of the last Foxes team to play in the top-flight in 2003-04.
Then-manager Micky Adams had made practically a new team's worth of signings after promotion but the gamble did not pay off because the club went straight back down.
Ferdinand was one of the few success stories that season with 14 Premier League goals at the season's end at age 37, but felt his achievements were soured by the drop.
Ferdinand said: "What Micky tried to do was pack the team with experience, but I think even he would admit that he got it wrong.
"Perhaps it was one new face too many and it was very disappointing for me."
With the Premier League arguably even stronger six years on, City would have big calls to make on their playing operation if the fairytale becomes a reality with promotion.
Mass change is an option, like it was for Adams. Giving the players who have got you there the chance to shine on the big stage is another.
But Ferdinand feels the class of 2009 are better equipped to handle the step-up than their predecessors, and hopes the current crop are given a good crack of the whip should it come to pass.
In his mind, the likes of Matt Fryatt, Chris Weale and Andy King will have earned the chance to prove themselves as Premier League players.
He said: "There is a call for both sides but, when a club are promoted to the Premier League, they need that bit of experience and that little bit of quality to survive.
"It's not the right thing just keep a settled team, you need to add to what you have got to stand a chance. But it's not 11 new players, it's about striking that balance.
"In that respect, this Leicester team are better equipped than the side that came up to the Premier League last time.
"If they were promoted and added the right players to their current team, they would have a real chance of surviving" - Leicester
The Sun - CARL IKEME insists he will miss the crazy world of QPR.
The goalkeeper's four-month loan comes to an end after today's game against Leicester.
Ikeme, 24, returns to Wolves after three managers, a boardroom upheaval and a relegation fight at Loftus Road.
The Nigeria World Cup hopeful said: "I've loved it here, I'm gutted to be going back. It's been a great experience.
"I've played 16 games and stayed injury free. It's been a learning curve playing under a few new managers.
"It has been a crazy time... a shock.
"What's happened with the board and managers is madness."
But Ikeme admits Neil Warnock is now the man to give Rangers fans the stability they crave.
They should have dragged themselves further away from the drop zone after bossing this game.
Argy Alejandro Faurlin scored his first goal for QPR on 23 minutes.
But Tom Soares levelled 15 minutes from time with Sheffield Wednesday's first and only notable effort on Ikeme's goal.
Keeper Ikeme added: "The boys have taken to Neil, you can see that with the performances.
"You can tell that the unrest affected the fans and the players - but now the fans are seeing that the club's starting to move forward again."
Warnock admits he cannot wait for the summer so the club can sign permanent players and solve their loan-heavy squad.
Portsmouth's Dusko Tosic could not play on Saturday as Rangers had the maximum of five loan players in their matchday 18.
And Warnock said: "We need to build the squad, that's no secret.
"We've got too many players in on loan and that's no good for what we want to do here.
"Spurs want £4.5million for Adel Taarabt, but that's ridiculous money."
Wednesday are still 20th despite being unbeaten in six games.
Boss Alan Irvine said: "When I arrived we needed to win 11 out of 23. We've lost one in eight but are still where we are - that's how tough this league is."

Carl Ikeme will bail out of Queens Park Rangers after today’s match against Leicester - and says he’ll miss the Loftus Road madhouse.
The Wolves goalkeeper has spent three months on loan at Rangers - and played under three different managers.
Ikeme will now return to Molineux where he says his future is unknown after falling out of Mick McCarthy’s plans.
He said: “I’m gutted to be going back. It was a great experience and I’ve played back to back and stayed injury free.
“I’ve played under a few new managers. It’s been interesting to see how different managers work and it’s been great working under the goalkeeping coach.
“It has been a crazy time. I’ve had only two or three managers in my whole Wolves career, so what’s happened in three months with the board and managers is crazy.”
Ikeme admits he is dreading going back to Wolves, adding: “All I do know is that I need to play games and I’m not getting that at Wolves.
“It’s an awkward situation, I’m on good terms with everyone at Wolves but I do want to be playing.
“I’ve not even been on the bench, it’s very frustrating, I want to play so much, you can’t beat it.
“I don’t like watching and the reserves just keeps you sharp but it doesn’t really mean anything win lose or draw.”
Ikeme played his last match at Loftus Road on Saturday but was unable to keep a clean sheet as Tom Soares netted a late equaliser for Sheffield Wednesday.
The on-loan Stoke midfielder, who played under current Rangers boss Neil Warnock at Crystal Palace, converted from substitute Jermaine Johnson’s cross.

- Steve Gallen spoke of his pride after seeing his Under 18s reach the Semi-Finals of the Trofeo Sardegna before losing to Slavia Prague in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
- After qualifying from their group in second place, the R's faced the Azerbaijan national side in the Quarter-Finals, and won 5-2 on penalties after a goalless draw against one of the tournament favourites.
Rangers keeper Elvijs Putnins saved a staggering three spot-kicks as he did his bit to help his team reach the Semi-Finals.
Ina hectic schedule, which had seen QPR play two games on Saturday, the Semi-Final took place less than 24 hours later against Slavia Prague.
The R's stormed into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Elliott Cox and Luke Olley. Unfortunately they were pegged back, however, with Prague's equaliser coming in the final minute of the match.
Following the 2-2 draw, QPR faced another penalty shoot-out, this time losing 4-2.

Azerbaijani football team loses to English Queens Park Rangers
The youth football team of Azerbaijan (U-19) completed participation in Trofeo Sardegna in Italian Olbia.
According to News.Az, after the victory over Turin Juventus (1:0) and Olympic from Marseilles (in the penalty series) our team reached the quarterfinal where it played English Queens Park Rangers. The main half ended 0:0 but the British team was successful in the after-match penalties.

Alejandro Faurlin's first goal in QPR colours gave Rangers a 1-0 lead, but Tom Soares' second half header clinched a point for Sheffield Wednesday.

"It was so frustrating. I can't wait for the summer if I'm being honest.
"Most of the lads have given everything, but it's disappointing when you don't take your chances and then get punished at the other end."
Warnock added: "We should have won that.
"They're delighted to come away with a point, which says everything.
"We're very difficult to beat, but we need to pick up more wins.

NEIL Warnock reckoned Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday left him the most frustrated since he arrived at QPR eigth games ago.
The Rangers boss watched one of his former Crystal Palace players steal a point in the last 13 minutes to cancel out Alejandro Faurlin's debut goal for Hoops in the first half.
Tom Soares rose at the back post to head the leveller and ruin Warnock's afternoon.
The manager said: "That was the most frustating game since I got here.
"If you allow a small full-back to outjump you - then maybe you get what you deserve. But it's given me more ideas about what I need to rectify next season.
"We need a physical presence up front - and I can't fault Tamas Priskin (pictured), he tried all afternoon. At least he wasn't wearing the pink boots he had on in training on Friday. I wasn't going to allow those."
Warnock was none too dazzled by referee Colin Webster's performance either.
The manager said: "Adel Taarabt had his shirt tugged earlier on and nothing happened. You know when that happens, it's one of those days when you can get away with just about anything including manslaughter."

Sporting Life - RANGERS NEED REINFORCEMENTS - WARNOCK
Boss Neil Warnock vowed to make major improvements to QPR's squad in the summer after seeing his side draw 1-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
Tom Soares' 77th-minute equaliser left Rangers without a win in six matches and rescued a point for the Owls, who remain only two points above the relegation zone.
Warnock's men, who are also not safe from the drop, went ahead midway through the first half when Wednesday failed to clear Hogan Ephraim's cross and Alejandro Faurlin pounced to score from close range.
The Argentine's goal - his first for QPR - was cancelled out by Soares' far-post header from Tommy Spurr's left-wing cross.
Warnock said: "This is the most frustrated I've been since I came to the club.
"We should win games like that. Wednesday have got to be delighted with that point.
"I can't wait until the summer, when I can rectify what needs to be rectified.
"We lack a physical presence up front and have too many loan players here.
"There are one or two areas I need to look at, and hopefully we can start next season with players who have a clear idea of what I want.
"If we had a team in place we could cater for a player like Adel Taarabt.
"He'd be better off with a big man up front, but we haven't got anyone like that."
But Warnock is confident that Rangers, who have 48 points, will be good enough to stay in the Championship.
"It's a nervous time for most teams - I bet even Preston will be glad when they get a few more points and are safe," he added.
"With the players we've got, we are capable of beating teams. I'm not fearful, I'm just very frustrated."
Wednesday boss Alan Irvine hailed the contributions of second-half substitutes Jermaine Johnson and Leon Clarke, who both unsettled Rangers after coming on.
Johnson, who has been out with a hamstring problem, was involved in the build up to Soares' goal.
Irvine said: "We started well but made a couple of basic mistakes that gave QPR a bit of momentum.
"QPR have some excellent players and we were well aware of the threat they posed. We were set up to stop those threats, but we then made a couple of attacking substitutions and it paid off.
"Jermaine was not fit enough to start the game, but I knew he was an option if needed - and it was needed. Fortunately for us, the substitutions worked."
And with fellow strugglers Watford and Crystal Palace also drawing away, Irvine conceded that the Owls' battle to avoid relegation could go to the wire.
"I'm sure there will be issues to be resolved on the last day," said the Scot.
"I'm hoping we won't need to be involved in all that, but obviously it is getting closer and closer.
"We had a big task when I came here. We needed to win 11 out of 23 games and had only won eight of 23 before that.
"We've now lost only one in eight but are still where we are, which shows you how tough the Championship is." Sporting Life

And the R's were punished for not finding their way past Grant for a second time when the Owls equalised in the 78th minute.

Captain Mikele Leigertwood and Faurlin occupied the two holding roles in midfield, while Priskin and Ephraim took up the wide positions.

There wasn't much to separate the two sides in the opening ten or so minutes.
It was the R's who were first to test their opposing keeper.

The ghost of Crystal Palace returned to haunt Neil Warnock in the shape of Tom Soares, who he sold to Stoke when he was in charge of the Eagles.
The winger, on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, popped up to score the equaliser and robbed Warnock of his fourth home win since he taking charge at Loftus Road.
“Tom was always a bit of an enigma,” admitted QPR manager Warnock. “But he’s got great ability.”
“We should win games like that.
“It was probably the most frustrating afternoon for me since I’ve been at the club.
“If you’re a small full-back and let someone get a jump on you, you’ve got to do something – pull his shirt or something,” grinned Warnock about the equaliser.

From the set piece Taarabt burst in to the box and found Ephraim, whose neat chip reached Alejandro Faurlin at the far post.

"I can't wait until the summer, when I can rectify what needs to be rectified.
"We lack a physical presence up front and have too many loan players here.
"There are one or two areas I need to look at, and hopefully we can start next season with players who have a clear idea of what I want.
"If we had a team in place we could cater for a player like Adel Taarabt.
"He'd be better off with a big man up front, but we haven't got anyone like that."
But Warnock is confident that Rangers, who have 48 points, will be good enough to stay in the Championship.
"It's a nervous time for most teams - I bet even Preston will be glad when they get a few more points and are safe," he added.
"With the players we've got, we are capable of beating teams. I'm not fearful, I'm just very frustrated."
Wednesday boss Alan Irvine hailed the contributions of second-half substitutes Jermaine Johnson and Leon Clarke, who both unsettled Rangers after coming on.
Johnson, who has been out with a hamstring problem, was involved in the build up to Soares' goal.
Irvine said: "We started well but made a couple of basic mistakes that gave QPR a bit of momentum.
"QPR have some excellent players and we were well aware of the threat they posed. We were set up to stop those threats, but we then made a couple of attacking substitutions and it paid off.
"Jermaine was not fit enough to start the game, but I knew he was an option if needed - and it was needed. Fortunately for us, the substitutions worked."
And with fellow strugglers Watford and Crystal Palace also drawing away, Irvine conceded that the Owls' battle to avoid relegation could go to the wire.
"I'm sure there will be issues to be resolved on the last day," said the Scot.
"I'm hoping we won't need to be involved in all that, but obviously it is getting closer and closer.
"We had a big task when I came here. We needed to win 11 out of 23 games and had only won eight of 23 before that.
"We've now lost only one in eight but are still where we are, which shows you how tough the Championship is." Sporting Life

The ghost of Crystal Palace returned to haunt Neil Warnock in the shape of Tom Soares, who he sold to Stoke when he was in charge of the Eagles.
The winger, on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, popped up to score the equaliser and robbed Warnock of his fourth home win since he taking charge at Loftus Road.
“Tom was always a bit of an enigma,” admitted QPR manager Warnock. “But he’s got great ability.”
“We should win games like that.
“It was probably the most frustrating afternoon for me since I’ve been at the club.
“If you’re a small full-back and let someone get a jump on you, you’ve got to do something – pull his shirt or something,” grinned Warnock about the equaliser.
“You could’ve got away with manslaughter today with that referee!”
QPR were superior during a dismal opening half, when goalkeeper Carl Ikeme didn’t have to make a single save.
Moroccan midfielder Adel Taarabt, on loan from Spurs, was in sparkling form for the hosts. He kept jinking past the defence and linking well with Hogan Ephraim.
And both had a hand in the opening goal on 23 minutes, when Lee Grant made a sharp save from Tamas Priskin’s angled drive to force a corner.
From the set piece Taarabt burst in to the box and found Ephraim, whose neat chip reached Alejandro Faurlin at the far post.
And the Argentinian hammered it home for his first goal for Rangers.
But after the interval, the hosts fluffed chances to extend their lead with Eddie Nolan twice clearing off the line.

Neil Warnock: At a JLS gig I realised the secret of success as a manager – it's all about entertainment
- You have may have formed the impression from last week's column, that I wasn't looking forward to seeing (and hearing) JLS in concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday. How wrong I was?
- I must admit I kept a low profile while waiting in the queue for the doors to open for me, Sharon, and eight kids but once it started I really enjoyed it. Diana Vickers and Lemar were also on the bill and it was terrific.
- As I was stood there, one of thousands of people with their arms in the air singing: "Everybody in love, go put your hands up", I thought for a second how great it is to be able to entertain people. Even managers of football teams like myself are lucky to be able to do that. I know you only enjoy the good days, but it is fabulous to contribute to something that makes people happy; though in football, of course, they're only happy if you win.
- After the concert we're all looking for a taxi and seeing them pull over for others but not for us. Then a red double-decker bus came along with "Victoria" on it. We scrambled to the stop, all piled on, and I said to the driver: "how much?" He must have taken pity on me with so many kids and just waved me on.
2. Our Hill really came alive back at Preston
- It was me taking the acclaim of the fans the previous day. I was walking off after our 2-2 draw at Preston and noticed the home support were clapping Matt Hill. He's on loan to us from Wolves but a couple of years ago he was player-of-the-year at Preston. I was a couple of yards away so I just sprinted in front of Matt, lifted my hands, and thanked them for the applause. They took it in good humour.
- Like Arsenal in midweek, we had found ourselves 2-0 down at Preston and came back to get a 2-2 draw. After a comeback like that I should have been delighted but we had chances to win so I felt a bit deflated. But then again, in the last minute we made a mistake and their lad was through. Had Carl Ikeme, our goalkeeper, not made a great save it could have been a disaster
- I'm expecting another warm reception today when my QPR team play in blue-and-white against Sheffield Wednesday, which seems a bit surreal though we wear hoops, not stripes. Like us they are fighting for their lives. I reckon it is down to nine clubs now and Easter will be crucial for all of us. Our Monday match is at Leicester, so I was interested to see they played yesterday, 24 hours before us. A clever bit of planning that from Nigel Pearson.
3. Chelsea need the real Drogba to turn up - It's been a super week for Chelsea, with Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas being injured, and if they can get a result at Old Trafford it'll be a great week. But they do need Didier Drogba to perform. Once or twice against good sides he's been missing in crucial games away from home. When he plays as he can both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand find it very difficult to cope with him.
With Rooney out it's a good time to play United but I can see canny Sir Alex Ferguson using Rooney's absence to get more out of his squad. It's a chance for Dimitar Berbatov to step up – it's about time he paid Fergie back and just might enjoy being the main man, and not just for today but on Wednesday, too, because I don't think United's second leg against Bayern Munich will be straightforward.
The big losers this week were Arsenal. To be without Fabregas, and having missed Robin van Persie for so long, is a major blow. Arsène Wenger's team will also have taken a massive dent to their confidence after the battering they took in the first half against Barcelona. But at least Arsène's team-talk is sorted for next week. He just has to tell his players: "Barcelona can't play any better than they did at the Emirates, even their manager said it was the best they've played, and they still can't beat you. So there's nothing to be scared of."
4. Moving experience left me choked
We travelled by train to Preston, it took just two hours and five minutes, amazing, and much better than using the clogged up motorways.
I've seen too much of the M25 recently. Since I left Palace it's been a long slog and don't envy anyone who has to do it every day. I've also seen some bad accidents – it does make you realise there's no sense in rushing to get somewhere and risking not going anywhere.
What with all the travelling I was relieved when we finally moved house Monday and Tuesday this week. Having said that, I can see why they say moving house is one of the most stressful things other than divorce. I don't know whether other women are like Sharon but the house we moved out of was cleaner when we left than when we moved in. It took her the best part of three weeks to scrub the cooker. So you can imagine how she felt when I commented that the lady checking us out mentioned there was some dust on one of the skirting boards. If it had been a cartoon there would have been a lot of asterisks in the speech bubble.
I usually time house moves impeccably by not being around when they happen. This time I got it wrong and was present for the best part of two days, helping to load and pack boxes. It has to be one of the least enjoyable jobs I've had to do. The dust that kicked up when clearing out the garage left me clogged up and with a heavy cold.
Once we moved in, and I don't know how women do it, in the space of 24 hours the garage was full of empty boxes and the house is organised. Don't tell me football management is a difficult job, there's no comparison with trying to get a house in order. You know what blokes are like, we'd be eating off those boxes for months.
5. There's no fooling me with Elvis...
6. Hammers are a bit selective with criticism - Interesting to see West Ham are complaining about Fulham fielding a weakened team at Hull. I seem to remember a similar thing happening in West Ham's favour when I was in the Premier League with Sheffield United. I don't think they complained then.

Neil Warnock: At a JLS gig I realised the secret of success as a manager – it's all about entertainment
- You have may have formed the impression from last week's column, that I wasn't looking forward to seeing (and hearing) JLS in concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday. How wrong I was?
- I must admit I kept a low profile while waiting in the queue for the doors to open for me, Sharon, and eight kids but once it started I really enjoyed it. Diana Vickers and Lemar were also on the bill and it was terrific.
- As I was stood there, one of thousands of people with their arms in the air singing: "Everybody in love, go put your hands up", I thought for a second how great it is to be able to entertain people. Even managers of football teams like myself are lucky to be able to do that. I know you only enjoy the good days, but it is fabulous to contribute to something that makes people happy; though in football, of course, they're only happy if you win.
- After the concert we're all looking for a taxi and seeing them pull over for others but not for us. Then a red double-decker bus came along with "Victoria" on it. We scrambled to the stop, all piled on, and I said to the driver: "how much?" He must have taken pity on me with so many kids and just waved me on.
2. Our Hill really came alive back at Preston
- It was me taking the acclaim of the fans the previous day. I was walking off after our 2-2 draw at Preston and noticed the home support were clapping Matt Hill. He's on loan to us from Wolves but a couple of years ago he was player-of-the-year at Preston. I was a couple of yards away so I just sprinted in front of Matt, lifted my hands, and thanked them for the applause. They took it in good humour.
- Like Arsenal in midweek, we had found ourselves 2-0 down at Preston and came back to get a 2-2 draw. After a comeback like that I should have been delighted but we had chances to win so I felt a bit deflated. But then again, in the last minute we made a mistake and their lad was through. Had Carl Ikeme, our goalkeeper, not made a great save it could have been a disaster
- I'm expecting another warm reception today when my QPR team play in blue-and-white against Sheffield Wednesday, which seems a bit surreal though we wear hoops, not stripes. Like us they are fighting for their lives. I reckon it is down to nine clubs now and Easter will be crucial for all of us. Our Monday match is at Leicester, so I was interested to see they played yesterday, 24 hours before us. A clever bit of planning that from Nigel Pearson.
3. Chelsea need the real Drogba to turn up - It's been a super week for Chelsea, with Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas being injured, and if they can get a result at Old Trafford it'll be a great week. But they do need Didier Drogba to perform. Once or twice against good sides he's been missing in crucial games away from home. When he plays as he can both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand find it very difficult to cope with him.
With Rooney out it's a good time to play United but I can see canny Sir Alex Ferguson using Rooney's absence to get more out of his squad. It's a chance for Dimitar Berbatov to step up – it's about time he paid Fergie back and just might enjoy being the main man, and not just for today but on Wednesday, too, because I don't think United's second leg against Bayern Munich will be straightforward.
The big losers this week were Arsenal. To be without Fabregas, and having missed Robin van Persie for so long, is a major blow. Arsène Wenger's team will also have taken a massive dent to their confidence after the battering they took in the first half against Barcelona. But at least Arsène's team-talk is sorted for next week. He just has to tell his players: "Barcelona can't play any better than they did at the Emirates, even their manager said it was the best they've played, and they still can't beat you. So there's nothing to be scared of."
4. Moving experience left me choked
We travelled by train to Preston, it took just two hours and five minutes, amazing, and much better than using the clogged up motorways.
I've seen too much of the M25 recently. Since I left Palace it's been a long slog and don't envy anyone who has to do it every day. I've also seen some bad accidents – it does make you realise there's no sense in rushing to get somewhere and risking not going anywhere.
What with all the travelling I was relieved when we finally moved house Monday and Tuesday this week. Having said that, I can see why they say moving house is one of the most stressful things other than divorce. I don't know whether other women are like Sharon but the house we moved out of was cleaner when we left than when we moved in. It took her the best part of three weeks to scrub the cooker. So you can imagine how she felt when I commented that the lady checking us out mentioned there was some dust on one of the skirting boards. If it had been a cartoon there would have been a lot of asterisks in the speech bubble.
I usually time house moves impeccably by not being around when they happen. This time I got it wrong and was present for the best part of two days, helping to load and pack boxes. It has to be one of the least enjoyable jobs I've had to do. The dust that kicked up when clearing out the garage left me clogged up and with a heavy cold.
Once we moved in, and I don't know how women do it, in the space of 24 hours the garage was full of empty boxes and the house is organised. Don't tell me football management is a difficult job, there's no comparison with trying to get a house in order. You know what blokes are like, we'd be eating off those boxes for months.
5. There's no fooling me with Elvis...
6. Hammers are a bit selective with criticism - Interesting to see West Ham are complaining about Fulham fielding a weakened team at Hull. I seem to remember a similar thing happening in West Ham's favour when I was in the Premier League with Sheffield United. I don't think they complained then.

Nine Years Ago, Today, the Nightmare Began: "QPR Enter Administration" -
April 2, 2001 - QPR Official Statement - RANGERS IN ADMINISTRATION
The Board of Loftus Road PLC regrets to inform shareholders and supporters that after consultation with its advisors it has decided that the best course of action to help ensure the Group's longer term survival, is to put the holding company, Loftus Road PLC, and its wholly owned subsidiary The Queens Park Rangers Football and Athletic Club Ltd (QPR), into administration.
This decision has not been taken lightly and is a direct result of the losses incurred by the Group, currently running at �570,000 per month, over a sustained period of time.
The main objective of the Board is not only to ensure the continued operation of QPR and Wasps as professional sports teams in the short term, but to maximise their opportunity for a more prosperous future.
Chris Wright will be honouring his prior commitment to the Group and providing whatever financial support is necessary to ensure the continued running of the Clubs until a long term successor can be found or, initially, until at least the end of October 2001.
Chris Wright said :"It is a very sad day for everyone involved in Loftus Road. The last six months have been a real struggle financially and although my intention was to secure a sale to the right buyer before having to take this decision, it has not been forthcoming. I will continue to fund the day to day running of the Group until the end of the season and help to find a purchaser for QPR and Wasps.
Hopefully the day to day impact on the operation of QPR and Wasps as professional sports teams will be negligible, at least in the short term, and will in fact make the longer term more viable. Troubled Queens Park Rangers plight worsened when the club were put into administration on Monday.
A statement on the club's website read: "The decision has not been taken lightly and is a direct result of the losses incurred by the Group, currently running at £570,000 per month, over a sustained period of time."
The club is owned by Loftus Road plc and shares in the company have been suspended.
This move comes after chairman Chris Wright failed to find a buyer for the club.
Hopefully the day to day impact on the operation of QPR and Wasps as professional sports teams will be negligible
Wright was believed to be in discussions with former director Andrew Ellis, but those talks seem to have broken down.
QPR share their Loftus Road ground with Wasps and Wright says he will continue to finance the day-to-day running of the club until the end of the season.
The London club's problems could further deteriorate if they lose their battle against relegation.
Wright said: "It is a very sad day for everyone involved in Loftus Road.
"The last six months have been a real struggle financially and although my intention was to secure a sale to the right buyer before having to take this decision, it has not been forthcoming.
"I will continue to fund the day to day running of the Group until the end of the season and help to find a purchaser for QPR and Wasps.

BBC - Tuesday, 3 April, 2001 - Rangers safe, say administrators
The newly-appointed administrators of Queens Park Rangers have insisted the First Division club's future is not under threat.
Ray Hocking and Simon Michaels, of BDO Stoy Hayward Business Recovery Services, have been appointed joint administrators to holding company Loftus Road plc and their wholly-owned subsidiary QPR.
The administration was applied for by directors of Loftus Road plc as the best course of action for their long-term survival. The company have amassed debts of up to £11m.
"I don't see it as an existence-threatening position. I see it as a necessary step to ensure in the future there will be a Queens Park Rangers," said Hocking.
"Our priority is to secure a buyer for the company and the club and to ensure that creditors receive their monies."

Chris Wright, majority shareholder and chairman of Loftus Road plc, will continue to fund the club and Hocking confirmed that rugby union club Wasps - another subsidiary of Loftus Road plc - has not been put into administration.
Hocking insisted he was in no rush to find a buyer for the company and the club and said: "It could take a couple of weeks and it could take a season or more. It really does depend on who comes along.
"We will wait until we get the right offer. There's no panic to dispose of this in the next few days or the next few weeks. We are looking at a long-term survival programme here, not a quick fix."
Hocking also stressed the club's assets were worth more than their liabilities. "The club owns its ground and its training ground and they are worth considerable sums of money," he said.

"Any offers that include those have got to be considerable. We have got to be looking well above the £15-20m mark."
David Davies, the newly-appointed chief executive of Loftus Road plc, said the players, currently battling against relegation, remained positive.

Guardian/Scott Murray May 2001 - QPR and Wimbledon in merger talks
Queens Park Rangers have confirmed they are in "very early stage discussions" with Wimbledon about a possible merger of the two clubs.
The talks began after QPR were put into administration with debts of around £8m, while Wimbledon have been searching for a permanent home for several years.
The announcement came after a report in this morning's Sun. The article claimed that the proposed new team will be coached by Dons boss Terry Burton and will play its home games at Loftus Road.
However, a spokesperson for Loftus Road plc, the owners of QPR, was at pains to state that a final decision has yet to be made.
"Our initial view is that, in the current financial environment for football outside the Premier League, the idea could have merit and may be worth exploring further," he explained.
"But we must emphasise that it is still very early days and no firm agreement whatsoever has been reached. The talks with Wimbledon will only continue if there is general approval from our supporter base."
Wimbledon chairman Charles Koppel also played down the reports.
"No agreement to merge Wimbledon with QPR has been reached," he insisted. "While discussions regarding the idea of a possible merger have taken place, we realise that no agreement could ever be reached without consulting our supporters first.
"If the fans felt that this was not the best thing, we would re-evaluate and move along a different route."
Unsurprisingly, supporters have already opposed the mooted merger.
Libby Magrill, spokeswoman for QPR 1st, the Queens Park Rangers Supporters Trust, said: "Historically, QPR fans will not support a merger with any other Football League club.
"Proposed mergers with Brentford in 1967 and Fulham in 1987 were successfully opposed by the fans, and any move to merge QPR with Wimbledon this year, or at any stage in the future, will be opposed by every possible means.
"QPR fans will fight to retain the identity of our club. We know that Wimbledon fans will do the same."
Wimbledon fans also expressed their opposition to the proposal, promising to protest at a meeting between the club and supporters' organisations later this week.
The Wimbledon Independent Supporters' Association declared that they "unequivocally oppose the merger of two separate identities, families, supporters and histories" and added: "At our forthcoming meeting on Sunday with chairman Charles Koppel prior to the final game of the season, we shall be discussing and exploring the way to go forward.
"In addition, we shall be making clear to the owners of Wimbledon Football Club our desire for our own stadium and retained identity.
"We urge the vigilance of Wimbledon and QPR supporters during this time and ask that you make your voices heard far and wide."
Meanwhile, speculation that a third London club, Brentford, could also become involved was dismissed by chairman Ron Noades, who had been linked with a rival bid.
Noades told the Evening Standard: "We are not interested in any merger with or takeover of QPR.
"We were in talks with QPR about a possible ground share at Loftus Road but those cannot proceed until the club is out of administration.
"In the meantime, our own talks about a new ground for Brentford in the borough of Hounslow are progressing well.
"If QPR and Wimbledon merge we would be interested to talk to them about a possible ground share if we do manage to move to a new home ourselves."
It has also been reported that an unidentified City-based consortium are preparing a £12m bid to buy QPR outright and keep the club's identity.
Their bid is for the rugby and football wings of Loftus Road plc and would involve QPR and Wasps sharing Rangers' Acton training ground. Guardian

The newly-appointed administrators of Queens Park Rangers have insisted the First Division club's future is not under threat.
Ray Hocking and Simon Michaels, of BDO Stoy Hayward Business Recovery Services, have been appointed joint administrators to holding company Loftus Road plc and their wholly-owned subsidiary QPR.
The administration was applied for by directors of Loftus Road plc as the best course of action for their long-term survival. The company have amassed debts of up to £11m.
"I don't see it as an existence-threatening position. I see it as a necessary step to ensure in the future there will be a Queens Park Rangers," said Hocking.
"Our priority is to secure a buyer for the company and the club and to ensure that creditors receive their monies."

Chris Wright, majority shareholder and chairman of Loftus Road plc, will continue to fund the club and Hocking confirmed that rugby union club Wasps - another subsidiary of Loftus Road plc - has not been put into administration.
Hocking insisted he was in no rush to find a buyer for the company and the club and said: "It could take a couple of weeks and it could take a season or more. It really does depend on who comes along.
"We will wait until we get the right offer. There's no panic to dispose of this in the next few days or the next few weeks. We are looking at a long-term survival programme here, not a quick fix."
Hocking also stressed the club's assets were worth more than their liabilities. "The club owns its ground and its training ground and they are worth considerable sums of money," he said.

"Any offers that include those have got to be considerable. We have got to be looking well above the £15-20m mark."
David Davies, the newly-appointed chief executive of Loftus Road plc, said the players, currently battling against relegation, remained positive.
"I think it's fair to say that the atmosphere among the players is pretty good," he said. " I see it as the beginning of a new era for QPR. BBC

Queens Park Rangers have confirmed they are in "very early stage discussions" with Wimbledon about a possible merger of the two clubs.
The talks began after QPR were put into administration with debts of around £8m, while Wimbledon have been searching for a permanent home for several years.
The announcement came after a report in this morning's Sun. The article claimed that the proposed new team will be coached by Dons boss Terry Burton and will play its home games at Loftus Road.
However, a spokesperson for Loftus Road plc, the owners of QPR, was at pains to state that a final decision has yet to be made.
"Our initial view is that, in the current financial environment for football outside the Premier League, the idea could have merit and may be worth exploring further," he explained.
"But we must emphasise that it is still very early days and no firm agreement whatsoever has been reached. The talks with Wimbledon will only continue if there is general approval from our supporter base."
Wimbledon chairman Charles Koppel also played down the reports.
"No agreement to merge Wimbledon with QPR has been reached," he insisted. "While discussions regarding the idea of a possible merger have taken place, we realise that no agreement could ever be reached without consulting our supporters first.
"If the fans felt that this was not the best thing, we would re-evaluate and move along a different route."
Unsurprisingly, supporters have already opposed the mooted merger.
Libby Magrill, spokeswoman for QPR 1st, the Queens Park Rangers Supporters Trust, said: "Historically, QPR fans will not support a merger with any other Football League club.
"Proposed mergers with Brentford in 1967 and Fulham in 1987 were successfully opposed by the fans, and any move to merge QPR with Wimbledon this year, or at any stage in the future, will be opposed by every possible means.
"QPR fans will fight to retain the identity of our club. We know that Wimbledon fans will do the same."
Wimbledon fans also expressed their opposition to the proposal, promising to protest at a meeting between the club and supporters' organisations later this week.
The Wimbledon Independent Supporters' Association declared that they "unequivocally oppose the merger of two separate identities, families, supporters and histories" and added: "At our forthcoming meeting on Sunday with chairman Charles Koppel prior to the final game of the season, we shall be discussing and exploring the way to go forward.
"In addition, we shall be making clear to the owners of Wimbledon Football Club our desire for our own stadium and retained identity.
"We urge the vigilance of Wimbledon and QPR supporters during this time and ask that you make your voices heard far and wide."
Meanwhile, speculation that a third London club, Brentford, could also become involved was dismissed by chairman Ron Noades, who had been linked with a rival bid.
Noades told the Evening Standard: "We are not interested in any merger with or takeover of QPR.
"We were in talks with QPR about a possible ground share at Loftus Road but those cannot proceed until the club is out of administration.
"In the meantime, our own talks about a new ground for Brentford in the borough of Hounslow are progressing well.
"If QPR and Wimbledon merge we would be interested to talk to them about a possible ground share if we do manage to move to a new home ourselves."
It has also been reported that an unidentified City-based consortium are preparing a £12m bid to buy QPR outright and keep the club's identity.
Their bid is for the rugby and football wings of Loftus Road plc and would involve QPR and Wasps sharing Rangers' Acton training ground. Guardian

Q: In light of his recent performances in the Championship, do you think QPR will be able to keep hold of on-loan midfielder Adel Taarabt next season?

Claridge: I think they might, and the reason I think that is because he still has an awful lot to learn, especially when he's not in possession.
Taarabt is a talent, but there's no doubt at this stage in his career there's an imbalance to the Tottenham striker's game.
He wouldn't get away with that in the Premier League, which is probably why he's on loan at QPR, but if he starts to work hard without the ball, then someone is going to have a good player on their hands.
The bar is high at White Hart Lane and Spurs may want to hang on to him a bit longer. There's certainly untapped potential there.
Will QPR sign him on a permanent deal? It's 50-50 at this stage. Neil Warnock, who has only just taken over at Loftus Road, might not think he's his type of player in the long term.
Neil likes a specific type of player, and I would imagine he would try to get a couple from Sheffield United and Crystal Palace, his former clubs, in the summer. BBC
