Daily Mail - QPR offer Clement emotional Loftus Road deal
QPR have offered Neil Clement the chance of a move to Loftus Road.
The West Brom defender's dad Dave was part of the star-studded Rangers side of 1976 which finished runners-up to Liverpool in the old First Division.
But the former England international committed suicide in 1982 at the age of 34 after poisoning himself with weedkiller. He had been suffering from depression after badly breaking his leg and believing his career was finished.
West Brom want a £70,000 loan fee for the season and want Rangers to pay the former Chelsea trainee's £10,000-a-week wages in full. QPR are now cash-rich following the takeover of Formula One magnates Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone.
Meanwhile, QPR chairman Gianni Paladini has accused Birmingham managing director Karren Brady of taking advantage of their resources over the sale of Rowan Vine.
The former Portsmouth striker is surplus to requirements at St Andrews despite boss Steve Bruce paying Luton nearly £3m for him nine months ago.
The Blues want Rangers to fork out a massive £500,000 to take the player on a season's loan and also want rid of his £40,000-a-week wages.
Paladini said: "It is true that things have improved for QPR on the financial side.
"But we intend to be as professional as ever, and like every other club, we are also on the look-out for bargains. Karren is a nice lady, but she wants us to shop at Harrods before we have even been to the bargain store." Daily Mail
