Blackstock Withdraws from England U-21 Squad

-
So presumably Blackstock won't be playing for QPR tonight.
[UPDATE: According to messageboard posters, Blackstock had surgery and will be out for six weeks. But that's NOT from media/or the Official Site.]

Pearce loses duo for qualifier October 08 2007
"England Under-21s boss Stuart Pearce will be without in-form duo Michael Johnson and Craig Gardner for the Euro 2009 qualifiers against Montenegro and Republic of Ireland.
Johnson has been in sparkling form for Manchester City this season but has been carrying a groin injury and may need surgery.
Gardner, who has played in defence and midfield for Pearce, has scored free-kicks in his last two matches for Aston Villa - but has withdrawn through injury.
QPR forward Dexter Blackstock has also withdrawn, as has on-loan Morecambe goalkeeper Joe Lewis.
Pearce will replace Lewis with Manchester United youngster Tom Heaton.
Heaton, 21, is yet to make his senior debut for United in a competitive match and had a spell at Swindon earlier in his career.
The under-21s are looking to build on victories in their opening two games last month - when they travelled to Montenegro and Bulgaria.
Pearce's youngsters will face Montenegro at the Walkers Stadium on Friday before travelling to Cork to face Ireland the following Tuesday... ITV
