Francesco Guidolin has finally confirmed he has received an official offer to manage Queens Park Rangers.
Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone, the men taking over the West London club, want the Italian to guide the team up the Championship table.
After denying the story for so long, the former Palermo boss has conceded he is on the brink of moving on - even though a contractual issue is believed to be holding things up as he is still tied to Palermo despite leaving in May.
"Yes [the Briatore offer is concrete]," he told L'Espresso.
"But we are still far from saying that there is an agreement and I am ready to head for London.
"Also, on this, I will say that on Sunday I will be at Stadio Friuli."
Palermo are at Udinese for their next Serie A assignment and this comment would suggest any switch to England will not take place until the following week.
English tabloid speculation has indicated that the new man will be handed a £20 million transfer kitty with Alessandro Del Piero of Juventus rumoured to be an ambitious target. Setanta

Francesco Guidolin has confirmed he has received a proposal from Queens Park Rangers to become their new manager.
Rangers are searching for a new boss following the sacking of John Gregory earlier this month and Guidolin is thought to be the front-runner for the post at Loftus Road.
Speculation intensified over a move for Guidolin after the former Palermo coach was spotted at the recent win over Norwich.
Guidolin has now revealed he has held talks with new Rangers owner Flavio Briatore over a possible move to the Championship strugglers.
"It's true, I've met Briatore", Guidolin told the Italian press. "But there is nothing definitive.
"I admit that I would be pleased to have a professional adventure in England." Sporting Life

New Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has already been linked with a raid on former club Sheffield United as he looks to shape his side.
But one former Blade who will not be joining Warnock at Selhurst Park is former Eagles utility man Mikele Leigertwood.
Current United frontmen Jonathan Stead and Danny Webber have been linked with moves to south London, while Barnsley's ex-Blade Robert Kozluk could also be in line for a move to SE25.
But QPR star Leigertwood, who spent last season playing under Warnock at Bramall Lane, says he will not make a return to Selhurst Park as long as Simon Jordan remains the chairman.
It is understood that Leigertwood fell out with Jordan over the contract pay-off as part of his £600,000 switch to Sheffield United last summer.
Leigertwood said: "There's no chance of me returning to the club while Jordan is in charge.
"He messed me around."
Despite ruling out a return to Palace, Leigertwood insists Jordan has snared himself a very good manager in Warnock and provided an insight to what will be expected of the Eagles players day in and day out.
He said: "I think he is a good appointment - he has obviously got good experience and he knows what the Championship is all about.
"He is a fiery character and is a very good motivator - he will get the boys going, there's no doubt about that."
"The players will be expected to work very hard in training - but it won't be boring because he tends to break up training a bit.
"There will be a lot of physical work - but I think that's important in the Championship.
"He will work on different plays and will pay attention to set pieces.
He added: "Set pieces are important to him and he will work on those particularly when it come closer to a game."
Warnock is known for his direct style of football, something that might not sit well with the Palace faithful, but Leigertwood says supporters will have to get used to his uneasy on the eye style of play.
"On the field there will be a lot of hustle and bustle, said the 24-year-old.
"He likes to play with a big centre forward and then get players to support him as quickly as possible.
"But in saying that, he is not one to knock it long for the sake of it - if there's an opportunity to play then he will encourage it." This is Local London

Rufus Brevett has refused to say why takeover talks between Best Holdings and Swindon Town collapsed.
The former QPR and Oxford United defender was brought on board by potential Town chairman Jim Little as sporting director, but declined to elaborate on the statement put out by Swindon today.
He said: "I really don't want to get involved and I don't know what has gone on. It is the first I have heard about it."
When asked whether the breakdown in negotiations was disappointing and the talks a waste of time Brevett replied: "That's life." Report
