The crippling injury list that has hindered Neil Warnock's start to life as Palace manager looks to be abating.
With a London derby against QPR looming, Neil's options look much healthier than they did a week ago.
Mark Kennedy and Paul Ifill both came through Tuesday's draw at match against Cardiff City unscathed, and will provide the manager with the option of injecting some creativity into proceedings.
Clint Hill is in line to make his home debut, despite playing through his debut with the handicap of a calf injury, Besian Idrizaj is likely to be available after suffering concussion at Scunthorpe and David Martin is back training after enduring a bout of flu.
However, Tony Craig (shoulder) and Lee Hills (back) both miss out, as does Paul Dickov, who should be in contention for the trip to Colchester after the international break.
The two-week spell was at the forefront of Neil's mind when he looked ahead to Saturday's game.
He said: "The quicker I get my first win, the better. I want to win before we have a two-week break. QPR are having their best spell of the season, apart from the result the other night, and it's good to have a London derby."
Neil will hope to seal some loan deals during the fortnight but, as he explains, there are obstacles in the way.
"I read that Glenn Roeder had said hat it's difficult to get players in because those from the Premier League are more prepared to play in the reserves because they don't want to travel and stay in a hotel - and he's right," he said.
"I've spoken to two Premier League players who the managers have said I can have, but the players haven't agreed to come - not just to us but to any team in the Championship.
"I find that incredible that they don't want to play first team football. It is money because it shows these players aren't altogether bothered about playing - but then you don't want those kind of players anyhow.
"So when they say that, you thank god that you didn't sign them anyway."
The Eagles boss has been encouraged by the away draws at Scunthorpe and Cardiff, and now wants to turn them into wins.
He added: "Quite honestly, we weren't good enough against Watford and Stoke. If we'd defended against Stoke anything like the way we defended against Cardiff, we would have won because they only had three efforts on goal.
"We've worked hard on the defence and sorted that out, but we've got to score more goals with what we've got at the club. But if we can't, we'll have to bring someone else in because we have to score more goals.
"I said I'd give them 5 games and, to be fair, I've given everyone a shot. I don't think anybody can say I haven't given them a chance - including the kids.
"Attendances will increase when we give the fans something to shout about. The ones that are coming, the loyal ones, can see a change. They just have to have faith in me.
"I don;t think any team's too good to go down - I'm not even thinking about that. The sooner we get stabilised, the sooner we can blood some of the younger lads over the last 10 to 15 games at the end of the season. That's my intention.
"At the beginning, I don;t think one or two of the players expressed themselves, but we are improving on that.
"I feel every game we played we could have won, including Watford. If we sort ourselves out, in a few weeks' time we could win games like that." Crystal Palace

Saturday's clash between Palace and QPR pits together two London teams at the rear of the table led by new managers.
The Selhurst Park encounter will be Neil Warnock's 6th game in charge of the Eagles and Luigi De Canio's third since succeeding John Gregory at Loftus Road.
Gregory paid the price for a poor start to the season in early October after a 5-1 defeat at West Brom left the west Londoners at the bottom of the Championship table with three points from their first 7 games
Caretaker manager Mick Harford helped spearhead a mini-revival, with two wins and two draws in the next 5 games, but the Rangers board wanted someone new and named Italian Luigi De Canio as their next manager.
The appointment, which saw the club managed by a foreigner for the first time in its history, was made by a new-look board installed in September.
Joining chairman Gianni Paladini were Formula One heavyweights Flavio Briatore and Bernie Eccleston, adding significant financial muscle behind the scenes.
Given the Rangers board has targeted a Premier League place within four years, it is likely that De Canio will be backed to bring in a number of new faces in the January transfer window.
The calibre of the two loan signings he has made certainly suggests there will be an influx of other highly-rated additions.
Hungarian international midfielder Akos Buzsaky has already made an impact since joining from Plymouth.
The dead ball specialist followed up the promise he showed in his debut, a 2-0 win over Hull City, with a screamer in the 2-1 loss against Coventry.

The 18-year-old bagged the winner against Palace in March this year while on loan at Plymouth, where he scored four goals in 18 starts.
Sinclair made his league debut for Chelsea at Arsenal at the tail end of last term, and then made his first start at home to Manchester United three days later.
Having featured for the Blues in this season's Community Shield and two Carling Cup games, Sinclair is being groomed to play a long-term role at Stamford Bridge, and could make a real impression at Loftus Road.
Tuesday's loss to Coventry was QPR's first in 6 games and left them above Palace - and the relegation zone - by one point.
It was a game that also proved damaging from an injury perspective. On-loan Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie suffered a broken leg and has now returned to the south coast, while Mikele Leigertwood (broken nose) and Marc Nygaard (hamstring) sustained injuries that could rule them out of the fixture.
However, Rangers still have striker Rowan Vine available, after Birmingham allowed his loan to be extended by two further months.

Local rivals Crystal Palace provide the opposition for Luigi De Canio's first away fixture in charge of the new-look Super Hoops.
The Italian maestro will come face-to-face with larger-than-life character Neil Warnock, who took over the reigns at Selhurst Park last month, in the wake of Peter Taylor's dismissal.
The Eagles currently sit one point adrift of QPR, occupying 23rd place in the Championship table.
The arrival of Warnock in SE25 was one of the worst kept secrets of the season so far.
The former Sheffield United gaffer is a long term friend of Eagles Chairman Simon Jordan and once the formalities of the Taylor departure were tied up, there was only ever going to be one man filling the then vacant Eagles hot-seat.
Warnock's track record at this level is impressive. The 58 year-old has enjoyed six promotions during his 21-year managerial career and although he will be hard pushed to make it seven this season, Jordan is convinced he has the right man in place to turn the tide in their favour.
"I know Neil is determined to do a good job. I always used to benchmark our progress at Palace by the results we had against Neil Warnock's Sheffield United," said the Eagles supreme.
"I know I have the right man. It is the dream ticket. We both say what we mean and we mean what we say."
If the Eagles form so far under Warnock is anything to go by, Jordan may be made to eat his words.
Palace are still looking for their first win under his guidance, with two defeats and three draws seeing them drop rather worryingly into the bottom two.

It was a result which left Warnock bemoaning his sides' lack of inventiveness in the attacking third.
"I am never happy with a point, particularly on this occasion because I tried to win the game, but we are improving all the time," ha said.
"We were positive, particularly in the second half, because I would have been happy going in at half-time a goal down.
"We lacked a little depth in the final third and they had chances to nick it towards the end, but I think we deserved a point." QPR

R's defender Marcus Bignot has joined League One side Millwall on a one month loan deal.
The experienced 33 year-old will remain with the Lions up to, and including, Saturday 8th December and is eligible to play in their FA Cup first round tie at Altrincham on Saturday.
Bignot made 57 appearances for Rangers between March 2001 and August 2002, before signing for Rushden & Diamonds.
But he soon rejoined the Hoops and at the end of the 2006/07 campaign, the ever-popular defender had accumulated 190 appearances in all competitions for the R's. QPR

Millwall have signed defender Marcus Bignot on an emergency one-month loan from QPR.
Marcus is the sixth loan player currently in the Millwall squad and new boss Kenny Jackett explained: "We have brought Marcus in because three of our experienced defenders are now injured.
Danny Senda, Richard Shaw and Andy Frampton will all miss Saturday's game at Altrincham and consequently I needed to get an experienced player in to bolster the defence."
