Argus/Tom Gurney -Crawley in talks with former Albion defender
CRAWLEY boss Steve Evans is talking to former Albion defender Georges Santos about a possible move to Broadfield Stadium.
Santos is a free agent after being released by Chesterfield and can join Reds outside the transfer window.
Evans wants cover in defence and begun negotiations with the 37-year-old ex-Sheffield United and QPR stopper last week.
He said: "He is someone who is not on contract so we can sign him at any time. We are still chatting to him." Argus
BACKGROUND
With little money to spend, Ian Holloway signed Santos after our promotion. Playing in defense and midfield- even attack for two season before being released. Santos also played in England for Tranmere, WBA, Sheffield United, Grimsby and Ipswich. At the end of the 2005/06, Santos was released by QPR.
If Santos does sign, he will join another ex-QPR at Crawley, Tony Scully. Crawley Roster
