MK Dons - DYER NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Dons midfielder Lloyd Dyer has been named the League 2 Powerade Player of the Month for October.
The Birmingham-born winger was confirmed as the latest winner of the coveted award on Monday evening after playing a key-role in the Dons' superb start to the season.
Dyer, 25, has been among the Dons' star performers in recent weeks while Paul Ince's men have maintained their position at the League Two summit for the entire month.....
Also short-listed for the October award were Liam Hatch of Barnet, Adam Rooney of Chesterfield (on loan from Stoke City) and Chester City's Richie Partridge.
Chris Kamara, chairman of the Powerade Player of the Month Awards panel, said: "One of Lloyd Dyer's great strengths is his energy; he's able to motor up and down the left side all day and provides terrific service to his strikers. He's also added goals to his game this month and his excellent all round form is one of the main reasons why MK Dons remain the team to catch at the top of League 2."
Ryan Shawcross of Stoke City (on loan from Manchester United) won the award in the Championship and Kris Commons of Nottingham Forest landed the League 1 accolade.
The Powerade Awards panel, chaired by Sky Sports pundit and Coca-Cola Ambassador Chris Kamara, made the decision. The panel also includes Paul Hetherington, Chairman of the Football Writers' Association, Malcolm Clarke, Chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation and Tim Ellerton, Sponsorship Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain.
