Reuters - Brazil coach Dunga will also take charge of the country's Olympic team at the 2008 Beijing Games.
"Dunga is enthusiastic about this possibility and I'm sure he's the right person to be at the front of the team going to the Olympics," president Ricardo Teixeira told the Brazilian Football Confederation's Web site (www.cbfnews.uol.com.br).
Brazil, who have already qualified for Beijing, have never won the Olympic soccer tournament which they take more seriously than most European teams.
Vanderlei Luxemburgo also led the senior and Olympic teams in 2000. Failure at the Sydney Games cost him both jobs after Brazil lost to nine-man Cameroon in the quarter-finals.

HOUSTON -- History is proving to be quite unkind to FC Dallas. Coming into Friday's second leg of the Western Conference Semifinals, Dallas had never won at Robertson Stadium and hadn't won a first-round playoff series since 1999.
Both of those streaks seemed to be on their way to being put to rest after just 14 minutes, when Carlos Ruiz scored to put FC Dallas ahead 2-0 on aggregate. But Arturo Alvarez was sent off very early in the second half, Houston scored twice in six minutes to tie the overall series, then scored twice in extra time to win the game 4-1 and the series 4-2 on aggregate...
"I'm extremely disappointed for the players," said FCD head coach Steve Morrow. "It's a very tough way to go out."
Despite getting the first goal of the game, the Hoops could not seem to generate any momentum. They were put on their heels for most of the game, mainly because injuries and frustration had depleted their starting lineup.
"Everything seemed to go against us today, right from losing Clarence Goodson just before the game and losing Dario [Sala] early in the game, getting [Arturo Alvarez] sent off and losing Adrian Serioux as well," said Morrow....

Costa Rica striker Paulo Wanchope has revealed he is enjoying his football again after a successful MLS season with Chicago Fire.
After disappointing spells in Spain, Qatar, Argentina and Japan, the 31-year-old arrived in Chicago in the summer and played his part as the team qualified to the end-of-season play-offs, scoring two goals in 12 games for the Illinois outfit.
Wanchope told Nacion newspaper: "Everything is great. I'm very happy because the team have got better thanks to the players and the very professional technical staff.
"I got used to this country very quickly. Players make you feel very comfortable and the coach's [Juan Carlos Osorio] confidence helped me a lot, as I already knew him.
"The strongest part of Chicago is the union of the team. It is very difficult to score against us as we help each other and that's very important."
The former Derby, West Ham and Manchester City hitman added that he is refusing to contemplate a life away from football, even after his playing days are over.
"I am still a player," he said. "When I retire, I will be linked to football as coach, a board member, anything.
"I won't give up contributing to help Costa Rican football."
Wanchope and Chicago can book their place in the Eastern Conference final on Thursday when they defend a 1-0 first-leg lead in the return match of their semi-final tie with DC United at RFK Stadium. Sky

Reading Evening Post - Extra Time: Marsh gives Reading and Fulham the boot
IF former soccer star Rodney Marsh has his way, both Reading and tomorrow’s opponents Fulham, one of his former clubs, should be booted out of the Premier League.
The controversial pundit believes the Royals and three other clubs cannot sustain their position at the highest level of the game and would be better off in the lower leagues.
Marsh branded Reading as under-achievers, along with Fulham, Derby and Wigan and said the Premier League should be reduced to just 16 clubs with an extra relegation slot brought in for the next four years.
“They just can’t cut it at this level and are hanging on by the skin of their teeth,” Marsh told football website fanbanta.com.
“They should be put out of their misery because when they play the top sides it is just too one-sided.”
His comments have already provoked outrage and a fanbanta spokesman said: “A lot of people see sense in reducing the league to 16 teams to make it more competitive, but the vast majority of fans are outraged that he has effectively labelled these four clubs as not good enough.”
Marsh made his over-the-top comments following the matches played two weeks ago when Reading were beaten 4-2 at Blackburn and Wigan were outclassed by Portsmouth, while Fulham and Derby – who have yet to score an away Premiership goal – played out a goal-less draw at Craven Cottage.
He said reducing the number of clubs “would make the Premier League stronger and that will benefit the national team who are hardly setting the world alight at the moment.”
He added: “I don’t think our players benefit from playing some of these teams who are consistently fighting relegation.”
The broadcaster, a star with QPR and Manchester City in addition to Fulham, wants to see one extra team relegated over the next four years to slim the league down and believes the four will all tumble out of the Premiership in that time.
“The fans of those clubs will probably hate me but it is difficult for them to compete and I am really worried about the financial pressure it puts on them,” he said.
“It’s a vicious circle with the poorer clubs desperate to stay up and bringing in more and more foreign players.
“That makes the Premiership weaker and threatens some clubs with going out of existence. I’d far rather see these clubs in the Championship and pushing for promotion with more home-grown players in their ranks.
“Less fixtures will also give England and the other home nations more time to get their players together for the big games and stay fitter.
“It is time to act and be brutal with four-team relegation till we have just 16 teams.
“It is up to these teams to fight for their place and good luck to them if they survive, but on current performance they are not offering that much.” Reading Evening Post

No decision on Jim Smith's future as Oxford United manager is expected before the middle of next week.
U's chairman Nick Merry told the Oxford Mail that a board meeting would take place on Wednesday night, when Smith returns from a short break abroad.
Smith has come under intense pressure to step down as manager after an embarrassing 5-0 defeat at Rushden on Thursday night.
"Thursday was obviously very disappointing," Merry said. "The performance wasn't good enough.
"Jim has gone away to Spain for a few days, and when he returns, we will have a board meeting on Wednesday night."
Meanwhile, Supporters group OxVox have pleaded with Merry to advertise the manager's position at United.
"Everyone would love Jim Smith to succeed now in the way he did so famously in the 1980s," they said in a statement.
"Sadly, with each passing match, fewer and fewer supporters are convinced he is the answer."

Jim Smith has dropped the first hint that he may be considering his future as Oxford United manager.
While seeing his side crash to an embarrassing 5-0 defeat at the hands of Rushden & Diamonds last night, Smith had to listen to United fans making their feelings known throughout the second half.
Chants of 'Smith Out' rang around Nene Park, and when the supporters asked the U's boss for a wave, they booed when he obliged.
United were 3-0 behind in just 14 minutes, and despite being on the end of a vociferous half-time team talk, conceded twice more at the start of the second half.
Although Smith's position has been questioned before, he has always vowed he is going nowhere.
However, he could not do that last night, saying he will 'probably' be picking the team for their FA Cup game against Northwich a week tomorrow.
Asked whether he will remain in charge, he replied: "That will be between me and the chairman.
"I only want what's best for Oxford United.
"I have no doubt that I will probably be picking the team next week."
United gave a shambolic defensive display, with central defenders Chris Willmott and Phil Gilchrist, in particular, run ragged.
"We gave them three soft goals and it was always a mountain to climb after that," he added.
"There were experienced players out there who did not do themselves justice tonight and who cost us simple goals....
"If I could have made nine substitutions at half-time I would have done."
Although United were forced to field a young team due to their big injury list, Smith admitted it was no excuse.
"We maybe had too many young players out there, but they have got to do better than that," he said.
"There wasn't enough pride out there - we didn't put ourselves about enough.
"I wouldn't say the players don't care, some out there - more senior players - could have done more about it though.
"We have got to regroup now and make sure that we are ready for the next match because the FA Cup is now a huge game and a huge competition for us.
"Relegation was the lowest moment since I came back here, but that's right down there.
"There hasn't been a lot said in the dressing room.
