John Gregory, the former boss of QPR, Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers, has declined an offer to manage Israel top-flight outfit Maccabi Petach Tikvah.
Having been sacked by QPR last month, Gregory spent last weekend in Israel accompanied by agent David Abou and watched Maccabi’s 1-1 draw against Maccabi Herzliya, in which Josh Kennet came on as an 86th minute substitute.
Gregory met Petach Tikvah President Victor Luzon in Pini Zahavi’s Tel Aviv office and was offered a £75,000 contract to manage the team until the end of the season. But on returning to England, he informed Luzon that he would not be taking up the offer. Jewish Chronicle
