Ian Holloway on Scott Sinclair Joining QPR - Praises Sinclair But Claims QPR Paying High Wages

Plymouth Official Site - [Holloway] - NO SURPRISE
MANAGER Ian Holloway has admitted he was not surprised to see Scott Sinclair move to Championship rivals QPR on loan from Chelsea.
After languishing in the Chelsea reserve team, Sinclair made his name during a blistering loan spell with the Pilgrims last season.
Ollie was initially keen to bring the flying winger back to Home Park for another loan spell, but his spiraling wages and the arrival of Lee Martin possibly cooled our interest.
When asked about Scott's move to the R's, Ollie said: "I am not surprised and they [QPR] are paying him £20,000 a week.
"We got him for nothing last year. We borrowed him for nothing because he was playing like a complete buffoon in the reserves - that is the facts.
"Penny [chief scout Gary Penrice] was brave and told me we needed an impact player. He told me, 'He [Sinclair] is playing like an idiot but I think you can help him'.
"Everybody else said 'why are you taking Scott Sinclair', and now everybody wants him.
"He is an impact player and, if you play too many impact players in one team, you will lose. It is all about getting the balance right.
"He added to us last year, big time. I have been going for him all season but, once Lee Martin came here, do I need to go again?
"He got a much better deal [with Chelsea] on the back of us and I am not surprised. QPR have been taken over by some of the richest people in the world and it is in London.
"He came to me because he was struggling. Sometimes you are used, but we used him as well." Plymouth
