QPR Official Site STAN'S THE MAN!
Stan Bowles has been named as the ex-player most Rangers fans would like to 'recycle' and see playing in the current Queens Park Rangers side in a survey on behalf of the 'Coca-Cola' Talent from Trash Recycle-a-Player programme.
The ex-Loftus Road favourite topped the poll, followed by Les Ferdinand in second place. Bowles played 255 times for Rangers scoring 70 goals the majority of which were from Midfield. Front-man Rodney Marsh, midfielder Gerry Francis and defender Alan McDonald make up the top five.
'Coca-Cola' Talent from Trash has been a big success with Queens Park Rangers since launching in early September. The innovative programme rewards Football League clubs and their fans for pledging to recycle more and raising household waste recycling levels in their communities. So far, over 300 Rangers fans have made the pledge helping to raise over £1,400 to date for Queens Park Rangers to spend on youth development.
There's still time to raise more cash for Queens Park Rangers. Fans can win up to £18,000 for Rangers to spend on youth development if they pledge to recycle more at www.talent-from-trash.com. One lucky fan of a Football League club will also win an extra £10,000 for their club and £5,000 for themselves by pledging their commitment online.
There are 13 clubs taking part in 'Coca-Cola' Talent from Trash: Accrington Stanley, Brentford, Burnley, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, QPR, Southampton, Swansea City, Swindon Town and Wycombe Wanderers.
'Coca-Cola' has been the proud sponsor of the Football League since 2004 and recently extended its sponsorship deal to run until the 2009/10 season. QPR
