QPR in Translation

-
Mirror - IT'S BETTER TRANS-LATE THAN NEVER AT RANGERS
Opr Slumped to the bottom of the table - but defender Chris Barker refused to blame the language barrier at the club.
Italian boss Luigi De Canio cannot speak any English, and has a translator on the touchline to help get his point across.
Bilingual striker Marc Nygaard also seems to spend more time running to the bench to pass on instructions than anything else
.
Barker is not pushing the panic button, though, as they enter the Christmas period.
He said: "We know the situation we're in and we have to get out of it. If we play like we did in our last two games I think we'll be all right. We are slightly improving.
"We have translators and it's okay. The manager learns a few new words every week.
"He knows a few swear words, too. Football is the same in whatever language and when he is showing tactics on the board we understand.

"I'm sure he is frustrated himself that he cannot speak to us. The first translator we had only lasted a few days but the current one has been here a while and is very good. He is the one between us. "Marc Nygaard can speak five languages and one of them is Italian, so that helps." The highlights of this game were two misses that will surely be shown in the season's blooper review.
QPR's Dexter Blackstock should have found the net on the half-hour mark. Somehow he directed the ball the wrong side of the post from five yards out, following a near-post driven cross by Gareth Ainsworth.
To his relief Wolves striker Stephen Elliott managed an even worse miss.
On 70 minutes Elliott had the simple task of slotting in at the far post from a Darron Gibson cross, but miscued his shot and the ball went wide.
Boss Mick McCarthy knows his side - who have won just once in 10 away trips - need to improve if they want to challenge for promotion.
He said: "It was important not to get beaten. I didn't want to lose three on the bounce.
"We miss Michael Kightly because he drags the ball up field and takes people on. But it looks like we'll be without him for another couple of weeks with an ankle injury.
"We dominated the second half, but I'll take the point."
Barker knows the Hoops had a lucky escape with Elliott's miss and added: "Sometimes you get that luck." Mirror
