Tommy Doherty Released by QPR and Signs for Wycombe

Tommy Doherty has had his contract with QPR terminated by mutual consent with immediate effect.
The midfielder joined Rangers in the summer of 2005 from Bristol City and went on to make just 15 appearances in all competitions for the first team.
Doherty, who spent time on loan at Wycombe Wanderers earlier this season, is expected to make the move to Adams Park a permanent one. QPR

The bearded wonder joined us on loan from Q.P.R in October 2007 - with a view to a permanent transfer when that deal expired on the 2nd January this year.
To the undoubted delight of all Blues fans that deal has been confirmed - with Tommy signing for the Chairboys at 12 noon today.
Doherty was released by mutual consent form his contract at Q.P.R at 10 a.m this morning, making him a free agent.
Blues boss Paul Lambert said: "It's brilliant to finally get the signing done and dusted. Tommy is a very talented player and I'm sure the fans are pleased to have him here permanently. We will need all the bodies we can get for the remainder of the season, and I think we have built up a very strong squad."
The ex-Bristol City midfielder was voted as the Wycombe supporters' Player of the Year for 2006/07 - a season where he also found himself in the League Two Team of the Year.
The cult hero is widely regarded as one of the most talented footballers in the Coca Cola Leagues - and his transfer will come as a huge boost to Paul Lambert's squad.
He has signed a contract which will keep him at Wycombe Wanderers until 30th June 2010 - and no transfer fee was involved.
It has been a good few months for the Northern Ireland international - he not only returned to the Wycombe squad after a long battle with injury, but also became a father for the first time when his wife gave birth to his son, Alfred James, in December.
Tommy played a key role in the wins over Brentford and Shrewsbury during the Christmas period - and will surely be a big part of the promotion push as the Blues look to continue their hot form into 2008.
