Ex-QPR Snippets: David Webb Birthday...Yeovil Back Bircham...Waddock's Almost There

-
David Webb Turns 62: Born April 9, 1946
Signed by Gordon Jago in July 1974 (sold to QPR by Dave Sexton)
Played for QPR for 3 and a bit seasons, including our "Championship" Season when he and Frank McClintock made up our experienced central partnership...and then our European adventure which ended in a penalty shootout miss... Frank Sibley sold Webb to Leicester City (managed by Frank McLintock) in September 1977. Webb was one of the only non-full Internationals in the QPR team of 1975-76 and 1976-77 but brought so much for the team. Just another in a long line of ex-Chelsea players who turned out for QPR! - Webb

BBC - Yeovil on Bircham "Slade backing Bircham to deliver"
Bircham has started five games since signing for Yeovil in 2007
Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade feels that there is a lot more to come from former QPR midfielder Marc Bircham.
The 29-year-old Canadian former QPR star has struggled with a recurring hamstring injury this season.
Slade told BBC Somerset: "A fit Marc Bircham would be in our team and number one in midfield every single week.
"But he is still two yards of pace short. He has not had the fitness or the match fitness that he needs on a regular basis."
Slade felt that Bircham's performance on Saturday at Carlisle was the best indication yet of what he could achieve for Yeovil.
Marc Bircham had his best game I've seen him play so far for the Glovers
"You could see little glimpses of a midfielder with a little bit of savvy and a little bit of know-how.
"The crowd get on his back because he is there and he is upsetting everybody and he is good to have on your side.
"But all too often we've been without his services." BBC

Not Quite Yet for Gary Waddock:
Aldershot Official Site: Ebbsfleet United 2-2 Aldershot Town
A brace from John Grant was not enough to secure the Blue Square Premier title for Gary Waddock's side at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday evening. The return of the name of Aldershot to the Football League after a 16 year absence can be confirmed on Saturday at home to Burton Albion if Shots manage a better result than Torquay United who travel to Stevenage Borough.
