First Team Coach Iain Dowie is determined to add to his squad before pre-season training commences at the end of June.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the R's gaffer expressed his desire to 'improve the squad with two or three new additions' before the players return to Harlington on Monday 30th June.
"We keep our targets under wraps, but we're quietly going about our business, in a sensible and conservative manner," he said.
"We're working hard to add to the squad and I'm pleased with the work we're doing behind the scenes."
Blackpool defender Kaspars Gorkss is one player who is certainly on Dowie's radar, however, with the R's confirming earlier this week that a bid has been tabled for the Latvian international.
"He's one we'd like to bring here," Dowie told www.qpr.co.uk.
"I really like the look of him as a player and if it happens, then great."
Dowie added: "Ideally I'd like to have the squad in place for the first day of pre-season training.
"That will enable us to condition them as we want, with our own methods, but that's not to say we won't do any business after that.
"If the right player becomes available, we'll gauge the situation at the time and see where it takes us."
As well as his First Team squad, the R's Harlington Training Complex is another area Dowie is looking to improve over the coming weeks.
"The training ground is getting there in terms of where I want it to be for pre-season," he said.
"The gym is looking great and we've made improvements to the catering - so we're getting there.
"I'm happy with the changes we've made. We'll be spending a hell of a lot of time there over the coming weeks, so the environment needs to be perfect for all of us."
