The half-way mark of the close season has now passed...and the long summer nightmare of no QPR football, is nearly over. In one week, the player report back for pre-season training. In just over 6 weeks, QPR's 2008-2009 promotion season kick off!
For QPR it's been a close-season of managerial departure and a new one coming in (along with departing coaches and new coaches coming in); some public fan unhappiness wih new season-ticket prices and how they were announced; stadium developments, especially in certain areas; a new crest unveiled to mixed reviews; three new signings thus far (Peter Ramage, Radek Cerny and Matteo Alberti); and lots of press and messageboard speculation about other new players.
Thus far, there are five pre-season games announced: Non-League, Stevenage; League One, Northampton; and two games in Scotland against Falkirk and Kilmarnock. Finally a match at Loftus Road against AC Chievo Verona. There are also a couple of QPR XI matches. There are rumours also of a possible match in Spain!
Other summer "events" to look forward to: The official unveiling of the new strip; new player signings; presumed player departures; the announcement of squad numbers.
