QPR Official Site - SIR LES SPEAKS: PART TWO
'A very good acquisition' - that's how former R's favourite Les Ferdinand views the appointment of new First Team Coach Iain Dowie.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the 41 year-old - who made 184 appearances in all competitions for the R's - believes the Rangers hierarchy have picked the right man to lead his former Club back to the big-time.
"I think the acquisition of Iain Dowie was a very good one. He's been there and done it at this level and knows what it take to get a team promoted to the top-tier," he said.
"He's brought in good quality, adding to an already decent squad, but I think additions are still required."
Rangers have already added former Premiership duo Radek Cerny and Peter Ramage to their ranks over the summer months and Ferdinand believes their experience and ability will prove invaluable next season.
"There was a lot of inexperience last season, but both Radek and Peter are very good players. I've been fortunate to see quite a bit of them both during my time with Setanta and I think they are both very welcome additions to the squad.
"Peter is a very aggressive player, a whole-hearted lad who will always give one hundred and ten per-cent. He's got a great will-to-win and that will be infectious throughout the side under Dowie.
"Cerny had a very decent season at Spurs and I was very surprised to see him leave. He wanted First Team football and he'll have the chance to compete for that at QPR."
