Keep waiting to hear official announcement of Gorkss sale...Another example of the rich get richer...QPR will be getting a sell-on fee if/when Danny Shittu joins Rangers (or someone else)
Blackpool Gazette Gorkss' Blackpool no show over QPR row
KASPARS Gorkss won't start the season in a Blackpool shirt.
Despite the current impasse in his move to QPR, Gorkss is not training with Blackpool and, barring a miraculous change of events, is unlikely to wear Tangerine again.
The Latvian has made up his mind to move on and was all set to sign for Rangers until Pool and Karl Oyston complained of an illegal approach.
Despite the wrangle between the clubs, the move to Rangers may still go ahead – with striker Daniel Nardiello probably coming to Bloomfield Road as well as £250,000 cash.
Aware
But even if the Rangers deal falls through, The Gazette understands that Gorkss has plenty of other admirers and would go elsewhere rather than return to Blackpool.
Boss Simon Grayson has been well aware of that since the end of last season and it is why he moved quickly to strengthen his defence.
Marlon Broomes's arrival was quickly followed by Alex Baptiste.
Both men play at the heart of the back four and with Ian Evatt and Shaun Barker – who still wants to switch to centre half at some stage – also in the squad, Grayson has a decent number of options for when Gorkss does eventually depart.
Mirror - RANGERS CLOSE TO SHITTU DEAL
Sport picturesRangers hope to complete the signing of Danny Shittu over the weekend after the centre-back did not travel on Watford's tour to Austria.
Shittu, 27, (above) was signed from QPR for £1.6million in 2006 and the club are entitled to 10 per cent of the sell-on fee.
But after an initial offer of £1.2m from Rangers, the transfer is ready to be settled at £1.5m plus add-ons. Mirror

....But Rangers chief executive Martin Bain ....also confirmed that Rangers have made an offer for Watford's powerhouse defender Danny Shittu. The complication is that any sell-on fee Watford receive has to be shared with Nigerian international Shittu's former club QPR so negotiations on that deal have a bit to go..." Daily Record
