Bernie Ecclestone on QPR - Not Got The Football Bug!

-
BBC Interview: Ecclestone - on the Olympics, F1 and QPR
"Bernie Ecclestone tells Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek he believes London has a very hard act to follow in staging the Olympic Games after the success of Beijing." Audio [Complete audio 11 minutes]
Most of the interview consists Ecclestone talking about the 2012 London Olympics (and the China Olympics) and Formula One racing and Max Mosley. And then near the end of the interview (about nine minutes into the interview) - Ecclestone talks briefly about QPR.
Relates how he was interested in Chelsea before Abramovich came in...

Then how he bought QPR. Repeats the Briatore/"Pizza Restaurant" story. "It was Briatore that was approached; not me.... He was looking for... a restaurant...I don't think it seemed a good idea at the time to buy"

Asked "Have you got the football bug?"
Ecclestone responds: "No. Not at all"

Asked: "Do you watch them? Do you get any great pleasure going to Loftus Road?
I've been two three times. I obviously I just don't have time to do everything that's the problem"...

Asked: "...Presumably ultimately you'd like Queens Park Rangers to be up there alongside their neigbours Chelsea in the Premier League"
Ecclestone responded: "I don't know if we could afford it....Even if we could whether we would want to...When you get in that league it's a different league. We'll wait and see."
