AFC Bournemouth has signed Leicester City striker Ricky Sappleton on a one month loan deal.
Sappleton travelled down from Leicester today and this afternoon put pen to paper on an initial loan move that will expire on August 31st.
The striker has been given clearance to play in the Carling Cup and signed in time to be included in Kevin Bond's squad. Sappleton takes squad number twenty-six.
Bond has also given squad numbers to youth team duo George Webb and Steve Hutchings ahead of the match. The Manager can name up to seven substitutes in this season's Carling Cup competition.
Sappleton was delighted to have signed for the Cherries and said he hopes to emulate Max Gradel's achievements from last season. Sappleton said, "Maxi has told be a lot about Bournemouth.
"He said they like to play good football and emphasised how well everyone from the Manager to the fans treated him during his time here. If I can achieve just half of what Maxi did I know I'll be doing well."
"I feel I can score goals for the club and am looking forward to linking with the likes of Jo Kuffour and Brett Pitman as we have different strengths and can work well together." AFC Bournemouth
