Football League - CLUBS GIVEN EXTRA 24 HOURS
It has been announced that clubs will get an extra 24 hours to bolster their squads, with the news that the transfer window will now officially close at midnight on Monday 1st September 2008.
The summer transfer window usually closes at the end of August but with August 31st falling on a Sunday, the Football Association, Premier League and Football League have agreed to extend it for the convenience of clubs.
Similar arrangements will also apply in January 2009, with the 31st falling on a Saturday." Football League
