Radek Cerny is well aware he isn’t popular with a section of QPR supporters.
He couldn’t fail to hear Lee Camp’s name being chanted just minutes into the Czech keeper’s Rangers debut on the opening day of the season.
Many believe Camp should not have been dropped and some early errors by the new man did not help his cause.
But Cerny enjoyed his best moment for the club so far when he produced a fine late save to help secure a point at Bristol City on Saturday.
He is humble about his lukewarm reception, saying: “I understand. The supporters know Lee but don’t know me.
“I will do my best to change the minds of supporters to be nice to me. I think if we do okay and win lots of games the supporters will like me. If we are winning I don’t think they will mind who is in goal.”
Camp himself is proof of this. He initially arrived as cover for the injured Chris Day, who was also well liked after a number of fine performances and crucial saves.
But there were few grumbles when Day spent the latter part of Rangers’ promotion season on the bench, with Camp having quickly established himself as the fans’ choice.
It remains to be seen whether Cerny can follow the same path. He certainly took a step in the right direction with that save at the weekend. " BBC606


BBC - Striker Baidoo makes Lewes move

Lewes have signed former QPR striker Shabazz Baidoo, having already had him at the club on trial during pre-season.
The 20-year-old, who was released by Dagenham & Redbridge this summer, has agreed a month-to-month deal.
Manager Kevin Keehan told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "He's quick and tenacious and has played at Championship level.
"He is not frightened to work and put people under pressure, so he will bring a lot to the team." BBC
