QPR are hoping that Leroy Lita might be the answer to their recent goal drought.
Rangers hope to lure the Reading striker away from their rivals in the Championship once Lita's loan spell is up at Norwich at the end of the month.
Co-owner Flavio Briatore has made it plain he won't stand for any more damp squibs after Rangers took only one point from the last 12.
Saturday's 1-0 setback at Birmingham has seen an SOS go out for a loan forward - with 23-year-old Lita topping the list.
However, the forward has gone backwards since a successful £1m switch from Bristol City to the Royals in 2005.
At the time, then Rs boss Ian Holloway made enquiries but in the days pre-Briatore and co, the Hoops came nowhere near Bristol's asking price.
Lita had a good spell in first two seasons at the Madejski.
But last year's loan spell to Charlton failed to kick-start his luck, and at the beginning of this campaign he was loaned to Norwich.
He's drawn a blank so far in his six-game loan deal with the Canaries, but Rangers insiders believe he may be the one to play alongside either Dexter Blackstock or Patrick Agyemang in a re-jigged 4-4-2 lineup similar to that at Birmingham on Saturday.

Rangers quickly shelved an interest in Fulham's Clint Dempsey this week after the American forward also failed to find the target in the twogames he's featured for Rs' neighbours.
It was also felt the Premiership club would be unlikely to release Dempsey - even on loan - while the Whites still have crocked Diomansy Kamara on the treatment table.
An Rs insider said: "We need some extra firepower to make sure the promotion plan remains on track."
