The perspective of the ever-supportive/never-critical-of-QPR Daily Mail! QPR supporters will of course be most interested to see how - and how much of - any additional sponsorship money is actually spent on new players.
The Daily Mail/HATCHET MAN: QPR should be going for players and points not just stockpiling ultra-rich investors
- "QPR are collecting figures from the list of the world's richest people as fast as they are accumulating points, which makes you wonder what they are up to.
Vijay Mallya, known for his lavish parties and ownership of the brewery responsible for Kingfisher Beer, could become the latest of the super-rich to join the Loftus Road group with a sponsorship deal.
- Rangers already have Formula One figures Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone and steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal as their major stakeholders, but the lavish transfer tactics of Roman Abramovich or the Abu Dhabi United Group have been conspicuous by their absence.
Iain Dowie's side have drawn one and lost four of their last five games and the manager reckons he is three players short of mounting a serious push for automatic promotion.
- But there are doubts he will get them in January when the transfer window opens again and maybe Ecclestone wasn't joking when he said he bought into Rangers to keep himself busy in the F1 off-season." Daily Mail
Southend Official Site/Rob Craven - U18'S QUALIFY FOR KNOCKOUT STAGES - Queens Park Rangers U18's 3 Southend United U18's 5
"Craig Calver's four-goal salvo ensured that Southend United's Under-18 side qualified for the knockout stages of the Puma Youth Alliance Cup with a match to spare after a stunning 5-3 victory at Queens Park Rangers...."

Steve Slade Turns 33 -
Born October 6, 1975. Slade, then an England Under 21 forward was signed from Spurs by Ray Wilkins after QPR's relegation in 1996 [Edit!]. Unfortunately, his career at QPR never took off. Nor after QPR did his career takeoff! See Wikipedia/Slade Stats
The Journal/Mark Douglas - Francis offered United position
JOE Kinnear will hear today whether his attempt to coax Gerry Francis out of retirement and add him to his threadbare Newcastle United coaching staff has been successful.
Kinnear oversaw a hugely encouraging battling draw against Everton at Goodison Park in his first game in charge yesterday...It represented a successful start to a tenure which is growing in authority, and which may see long-time friend Francis added to a coaching set-up which currently consists of just Kinnear and Chris Hughton.
Kinnear – whose appearance at his post-match Press conference suggests that his earlier threat to boycott the national media may not be carried through – revealed that he has been putting his players through double training sessions all week as he tries to draw a major improvement during his limited tenure.
And that has led him to try and persuade Francis to join his set-up on a part-time basis. Kinnear will hear from the former Spurs and QPR manager this afternoon.
“I’ve known Gerry all my life – he’s a good coach. I know he’s got media commitments but I’ve put an offer to him to join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays and do some solid work for which we’d pay him accordingly,” he said.
“Gerry has no desire to be a manager or coach full-time and he won’t be involved on Saturdays but I believe we need someone with that kind of experience to help us out.
“There’s only me and Chris at the moment and we’ve got a lot of young members of the squad who we’re taking together. I think it would be much easier if we went into smaller groups – it would improve them more...” ?” Journal Live
