SKY SPORTS - Heaton seeks United exit -Keeper ready to move on from Old Trafford
Skysports.com understands Tom Heaton is hoping to secure a permanent move away from Manchester United in the January transfer window.
- Heaton is currently at Rochdale after joining on an emergency loan until December following a successful three-month spell at Queens Park Rangers earlier this season.
- The England Under 21 international has found his road to the United first team blocked and he is now prepared to move on to get his career back on track.
- ueens Park Rangers have expressed their interest in bringing Heaton back to the club and the likes of Nottingham Forest and Norwich are also understood to be keeping tabs on Heaton's situation.
- Heaton's advisor, Tony Coton, admits the 23-year-old is ready to find a new club in search of regular first-team action.
- Tom's contract is up in the summer and he will be leaving Manchester United," Coton told skysports.com.
- "Tom is ready to move on as he wants to be playing regularly at this stage of his career.
- "Ideally he would like to move on in January rather than waiting until the summer as he just wants to be playing.
- There are about half a dozen clubs interested in him and I am sure United would agree to letting him leave for a small fee if someone came in for him

QPR Official Site - EXCLUSIVE: R'S CLINCH REID LOAN SIGNING
Posted on: Thu 19 Nov 2009
Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the emergency loan signing of Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid, subject to Football League approval.
-The Republic of Ireland international has penned a one month loan deal at Loftus Road.
- The 28 year-old's arrival represents something of a coup for the Club and speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, R's boss Jim Magilton expressed his delight at clinching the signature of the box-to-box midfield ace, commenting: "This is a significant loan signing for the Football Club.
- MPU "The fact we've been able to attract a player of Steven's calibre to the Club speaks volumes of the Board and the direction in which the Club is heading."
- Magilton added: "He's a class act. He can pass; he can tackle; he can shoot; he's box-to-box - he's a very, very good player.
- "We were bit light on numbers in the central midfield department following the long term injuries to Martin (Rowlands) and Gavin (Mahon), but Steven's arrival will give everyone a lift and will hopefully help us to kick on over the coming weeks."
- Reid's loan spell will conclude following the R's Coca Cola Championship fixture against Sheffield United on Saturday 19th December.- The midfielder will wear squad number 36. QPR

Sterling Says He's Happy at QPR...Marshall Set for QPR

Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times - Sterling example for club and country
- TEENAGE sensation Raheem Sterling plans to stay with QPR despite speculation that the Premier League's big boys are keen to sign him.

The 14-year-old from Neasden has leapt into the spotlight after making his debut for both the England under-16 side and Rangers' reserve team during the past fortnight.

Sterling cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 16 in December 2010, but he told the Times: "I just want to stay at QPR for the moment and go from there.

"Everyone's been pretty nice - they all just treat me like one of them and want me to do my best. I'd like to play a few more games for the reserves and do well in training and play for the first team eventually.

"Jim Magilton has watched me play and train and he said 'keep doing what you're doing - I'm not afraid to chuck young players in the first team'. If it happened, I'd just have to be a bit smarter than normal."

Sterling, who is studying for his GCSEs at Copland Community School, Wembley, has progressed rapidly through the QPR ranks under youth development manager Steve Gallen.

And the teenager revealed that veteran Gareth Ainsworth - who played alongside him when he made his debut for the reserves against Crawley Town last week, has also had a significant influence.

"When Gareth Ainsworth was caretaker manager last year, he used to come and watch the under-16s train and since then he's been pushing me on," Sterling added. "He says he wants to see me in the first team before he leaves the club."

The Rangers youngster set up England's second goal in a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland that means the under-16s will retain the Victory Shield as long as they avoid defeat against Scotland next week.

Kilburn Times/Dave McIntyre and Ben Kosky - Rangers court Marshall again
- QPR are looking to sign a goalkeeper on loan - with former trialist Andy Marshall among the candidates under consideration.

Marshall, who spent time at Loftus Road in the summer, is one of several keepers Rangers have shortlisted as possible short-term options following the departure of Tom Heaton.

Heaton returned to Manchester United last week following the end of his three-month loan spell at Rangers, and was immediately loaned to League Two promotion chasers Rochdale.

The Rs are interested in bringing him back to west London when the transfer window opens in January, either as a permanent signing or on loan for the remainder of the season.

But they need cover for first-choice stopper Radek Cerny during the interim period and were expected to contact Aston Villa about Marshall this week.

The 34-year-old was offered a one-year contract by QPR before the start of the season but instead agreed a move to Villa, where he has not made a first-team appearance.

Marshall is well known to Rangers manager Jim Magilton, having played alongside him at Ipswich for three seasons before moving on to Millwall and Coventry.

Several other goalkeepers have also been identified as potential signings should an approach for Marshall prove unsuccessful.

At least one loan signing is likely to be completed ahead of Saturday's game at Doncaster, with a midfielder also a priority following news that Gavin Mahon faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The former Watford man underwent a knee operation this week and will be out for an estimated four months, while striker Rowan Vine will miss the trip to the Keepmoat Stadium following a minor hernia operation. Kilburn Times

Kilburn Times/Ben Kosky - Bean Backing Cook
Cookie's still got a big part to play
- FORMER QPR midfielder Marcus Bean is backing his friend Lee Cook to help the Rs reach the top flight at the end of the season.

Cook has yet to feature this campaign after undergoing a knee operation in the summer, but has now resumed running and is in line to challenge for a first-team place next month.

And Bean, who is a regular in the Brentford side just a few miles down the road, told the Times: "Cookie's had a horrendous time with injuries and I'm really sad for him. Fingers crossed he'll be able to get himself fit and hopefully break into the side around January because he's a great player.

"He's had problems for a couple of years but when he is fit he's by far the best left-winger outside the Premier League.

"I'm gutted for him that he didn't get a chance in the Premier League with Fulham but it'll come for him again, I think - QPR have got a good chance this season."

Bean was struggling himself with a groin injury during the summer, but has signed a new two-year deal at Brentford since regaining fitness.

He added: "I turn up to work and I'm happy - that's the main thing in any job. You get better productivity out of people when they're happy and I'm enjoying my football. Kilburn Times

BBC - Reid closes in on QPR loan move
- Blackburn midfielder Steven Reid is set to join Queens Park Rangers on loan, BBC Radio Lancashire understands.
- Reid, 28, moved to Ewood Park from Millwall in July 2003 and has made over 100 appearances for Rovers.
- But a knee injury has restricted him to just seven domestic games since the beginning of last season.
- The Republic of Ireland international will provide cover for the Rangers midfield after long-term injuries to both Gavin Mahon and Martin Rowlands.
- He is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday's Championship clash with Doncaster. BBC

LONDON INFORMER/Paul Warburton - Exclusive: QPR close in on Steven Reid
- QPR will breathe life into the career of Steven Reid if they succeed in bringing the Irish international to Loftus Road on a one-month loan deal.
- Rangers have been hit by a succession of midfield injuries – and the latest that rules Gavin Mahon out for at least fourth months – has triggered a move for the Kingston-on-Thames born player who cost Blackburn £2million when Reid transferred from Millwall in July, 2003.

But although he’s had his high spots over the last six years, including his club’s goal-of-the-season in 2005-06 from a 35-yard rocket against Wigan, the 28-year-old has been beset by a succession of injuries that’s ruined the last two campaigns at Ewood Park.

Hamstring, back and cruciate ligament damage one after the other have restricted Reid’s appearances to just 25 in all competitions since 2007.

So far this term, he’s made three Carling Cup games for Rovers, and scored in the 5-2 win over Peterborough in the last round at the end of October.

Mahon’s shock injury comes on the back of a season-long lay-off for skipper Martin Rowlands, who sustained cruciate ligament damage playing for Ireland last month. Lee Cook is also not expected to be in line for a first-team recall until after Christmas.
- It leaves Rangers with just on-loan Ben Watson and Alejandro Faurlin in the centre of midfield, with Reid likely to be added to the bench for the trip to Doncaster on Saturday.
- Andy Marshall should also join him there, when the Aston Villa keeper pulls on the gloves vacated by Tom Heaton, recalled to Manchester United at the end of a three-month loan spell.
- Marshall, 34, was in line for a Rangers deal in the summer, and played in a pre-season friendly against Southampton, but chose to join Aston Villa instead where he’s now third choice.
- Rangers have set up a deal to bring Heaton back to west London permanently in January for £300,000 – but will insure against a keeper crisis by adding Marshall in another one-month loan as back-up to Radek Cerny.
- Rowan Vine is also set for a surprise recall to the Rangers bench at Donny after a rapid recovery from a clean-up hernia operation at the beginning of last week. London Informer

Dave McIntyre/BBC606 - First impressions
- Tommy Williams is back at QPR and likely to feature against Doncaster on Saturday.
- Signed on loan with a view to a permanent move in January, Williams has been told he can leave Peterborough as his contract there is due to expire at the end of the season and he will not be signing a new deal.
He will, apparently, still need to impress because (unlike with Gary Borrowdale last year, for example) Rangers are not locked into signing Williams when the transfer window opens.
- I’m also told his eye-catching performance against Rangers this season was not the club’s main reason for getting him. But let’s ignore that because I’d already planned a piece on players QPR have signed largely because of one performance.
- So - completely unrelated to Tommy Williams - here’s a few examples. Let me know if you think of any others.
John Byrne
Byrne was snapped up after playing against QPR for York City in a League Cup tie in 1984. He went on to become a fans' favourite and his strike partnership with Gary Bannister is fondly remembered.
Alan Mullery is rightly regarded as one of Rangers' worst ever managers, but two of the club's signings during his short spell in charge were Bannister and Byrne. Not bad!
Clive Wilson
Ironically for a man overlooked for England despite being brilliant over a long period, Wilson was snapped up by QPR largley because of a brief substitute appearance.
It came for Chelsea at Loftus Road in the 1989-90 campaign, when Rangers won 4-2. It was the day Les Ferdinand got his first goals for the club and Mark Falco scored with a cracking volley.
Rangers had made the game safe by the time Wilson came on, but his flashes of pure class caught the eye of everyone in the ground that day - including Don Howe, who moved to sign him at the end of the season.
Eric Sabin
Sabin, who if nothing else was blessed with blistering pace, was signed weeks after skinning Clarke Carlisle while playing against QPR for Swindon in March 2003. Carlisle was enduring a troubled spell in his career and was playing out of position at right-back.
Kaspars Gorkss
With centre-back a problem position for QPR at the time, Gorkss' display for Blackpool at Loftus Road caught the eye of sporting director Gianni Paladini, who moved for him weeks later when the season ended - and actually signed him just before the following season was about to start.
The delay was because that move was an illegal one according to Blackpool, and what should have been the straightforward capture of a player with a £250,000 release cause in his contract turned into the most protracted Rangers transfer of recent years.
Paladini eventually smoothed things over by agreeing what was effectively an exchange involving Zesh Rehman and Danny Nardiello, making the Gorkss deal both an example of sheer farce and pure brilliance. And all because of his performance on a Tuesday night in March 2008.
Adam Miller
Miller, then with non-League Aldershot, was signed after an excellent performance in front of Ian Holloway in a match against QPR's reserves at Loftus Road.
Miller, a Rangers fan, was determined to catch the eye that day and played out of his skin. He got his dream move but was unable to establish himself at the club.
Lee Charles
Striker 'Chippy' Charles also found the going tough after stepping up from non-League. He was signed in the summer of 1995 for £67,000 after scoring a hat-trick in a friendly against QPR while playing for Chertsey Town.
Aziz Ben Askar
Known to members of a consortium that was trying to buy QPR at the time, Ben Askar was invited to play in a pre-season friendly against Chelsea in 2001.
Having been introduced to the rest of the squad in the dressing room before the game, the defender produced such an impressive performance that the deal to sign him was effectively done on the pitch during his post-match warm-down.
Mike Sheron
Record signing Sheron was captured in 1997 after a relentless pursuit by Stewart Houston, who was convinced the striker would help Rangers get promoted.
Sheron had scored plenty of goals for Stoke, but Houston's near-obsession with signing him was partly based on one particularly brilliant performance.
It came in November 1996. Houston had just taken over as QPR manager and his former club Arsenal played Stoke in the League Cup.
Sheron's display - coming against Arsenal's famed back four - was nothing short of international class according to a number of respected observers who saw him that night.
Houston was smitten, and pleaded with the Rangers board to sign him despite several knockbacks.
George Kulscar
Kulscar's performance for Bradford against West Brom in November 1997 prompted Ray Harford, then Albion's manager, to immediately make enquires about him.
Weeks later, Harford replaced Houston at Rangers and quickly made Kulscar his first signing, saying he wanted a "Vinnie Jones-type player."
Kulscar failed to impress and four months later QPR signed another Vinne Jones-type player: Vinne Jones.
Gary Hooper?
Hooper is currently an example of someone the club decided not to pursue largely on the evidence of just one game.
But it’s possible, although unlikely, that he could yet join the list of those signed after impressing against QPR.
Recommended to Rangers a number of times before he gained his reputation at Scunthorpe, Hooper's goalscoring belatedly led to a scout being sent to watch him late last season.
The verdict was a thumbs-down and Rangers instead chased Simon Cox, who later joined West Brom from Swindon.
But after seeing him in action this season, Paladini made an unsuccessful offer for Hooper, who is one of several strikers to have been monitored by Rangers ahead of the January transfer window" BBC606

Mirror/David Allard - - QPR boss Jim Magilton wants loan deal for 'Steven Gerrard in the making'
Out of favour Ipswich midfield playmaker Owen Garvan could link up again with his old boss Jim Magilton.
QPR chief Magilton has enquired about possibly taking the Republic of Ireland skipper to Loftus Road on loan.
The goals are flowing from the promotion chasing Championship Rangers side and Magilton feels that Garvan’s midfield craft could create more.
Fans of struggling Ipswich are puzzled as to why Magilton’s successor Roy Keane does not appear to rate Garvan.
The Portman Road chief declares that the popular player “needs to do more".
Cardiff, Nottingham Forest and Scunthorpe are also watching the situation closely.
Former Ipswich boss Joe Royle once said that Garvan was “a Steven Gerrard in the making". Mirror

FOOTBALL LEAGUE - WHITTINGHAM NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola Championship Player of the Month for October.
- Whittingham has been in fantastic form through October netting seven goals in four league games. The Bluebirds forward opened his account with two goals over Watford early in the month, before securing City's single point in a hard fought draw against Crystal Palace. Whittingham continued his scoring spell by stepping up to take a penalty against Coventry City, coolly slotting home the match winner. He rounded off an impressive month by bagging a hat-trick in a gutsy 3-4 away win at Bramall Lane in a win which moved the Bluebirds up to the second spot in the Coca-Cola Championship table.
- Also short-listed for the October award were Chris Weale of Leicester City, Adel Taarabt of Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City's Alan Tate.
- Norwich City's Grant Holt won the award in League 1 and Notts County's Kasper Schmeichel was given the League 2 accolade.
- The decision to present the Coca-Cola Championship Player of the Month award was made by the Coca-Cola Player of the Month awards panel which includes former World Cup referee Jack Taylor, on behalf of The Football League, Steve Bates, Chairman of the Football Writers' Association, Malcolm Clarke, Chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation and Steve Watts, Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain. Football League

Cardiff Official Site - WHITTS WINS OCTOBER AWARD -
- Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham has been named Coca-Cola Championship player of the month for October.
- Whitts had a fantastic October, netting seven goals in four league games. He opened the month with a double strike in the Bluebirds'4-0 win at Watford, their first triumph at Vicarage Road since 1970. He followed that up by scoring the equaliser to clinch City a point against Crystal Palace.
- Then he stepped up to score a penalty in the 2-0 win over Coventry and he ended the month in brilliant style with a headline-grabbing hat-trick in a thrilling 4-3 win at Sheffield United.
- Whitts, took the October title by fighting off competition from Chris Weale of Leicester City, Adel Taarabt of Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City's Alan Tate.
- The Cardiff star said: "I don't quite know where the goals are coming from, but as long as they keep coming, I'm happy. The gaffer has told me to be more confident in my shooting and have a go from anywhere,, and that has helped.
"I'm also taking the penalties, and they're all going in. At the monent, I'm making it difficult for the keepers because I change my approach every time.
"I think I was concussed when I scored from the spot at Watford. The ball had hit me about 30 seconds befoe and I was still coming round.
- "It was good to score against Palace, but it was extra satisfying against Coventry because they let me go when I was 16. It's always a good feeling when you do that against a club who thought you weren't good enough.
- "It was an amazing feeling to get the hat-trick at Sheffield United, where my third was the result of a fanatstic move involving Ropss, Chops, and then Jay, who crossed the ball for me to score."-..." Cardiff

Dave McIntyre/BBC 606 - Duo in contract talks
- Rangers are to offer new contracts to Mikele Leigertwood and Angelo Balanta.
- Leigertwood has been in talks and looks likely to sign a two-year deal with the option of a third year.
- And Balanta is also in line for an improved contract having impressed Jim Magilton before picking up an injury.
- But the club’s immediate priority is some short-term cover for Radek Cerny following Tom Heaton’s return to Manchester United.
- Heaton, whose United contract expires in the summer, is back at Old Trafford after three months with QPR.
- Rangers are looking to bring him back in January either as a permanent signing or on loan for the rest of the season.
- In the meantime, they want another keeper on loan.
- A number of possible signings are being considered and they include Andy Marshall, who spent some time at Loftus Road during pre-season.
- Marshall was close to signing for the club following a trial, but did not agree personal terms and ended up joining Aston Villa.
- A midfield signing is also possible following the news that Gavin Mahon will be out for some time with a knee problem. BBC606

Sky Sports - Heaton: Dale deal
- Rochdale have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton on loan until the end of December.
- The 23-year-old shot stopper, who is an England Under 21 international, joined on Friday and is set to make his debut when Chesterfield visit Spotland on Saturday.
- Heaton has had loan spells at Championship clubs Cardiff and QPR, only leaving Loftus Road on Thursday, and will stay with Keith Hill's men for the remainder of 2009.
- Heaton told the club's official website: "I am looking to improve and develop and hopefully help get some wins for the team." Skysports

ROCHDALE OFFICIAL SITE - Keeper Signs
- Rochdale have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton on loan until the end of December. Although only 23 years of age the young keeper has been with Manchester United for 12 years. The England under U21 international has rose through the ranks at Old Trafford to cement his place in Ricky Sbragia's second string side. Heaton found himself on the bench 10 times for the first team in the 2007/08 season but with a lack of first team opportunities he has looked else were to gain more experience of competitive football.
- At the start of the 2008/09 season Heaton signed for Championship side Cardiff City on a season long loan dean. His performances impressed Cardiff boss Dave Jones so much that he was made the first choice keeper ahead of Finland international Peter Enckelman. Only an injury prevented Heaton from playing the full season. For the start of the 2009/10 Heath joined Queens Park Rangers on a three month loan deal.
- In an interview on Friday morning with DALE PLAYER Heaton stated what he is looking to get out of the loan move and what he can offer Rochdale AFC, 'Im looking to improve and develop' and to 'get some wins for the team'. Rochdale

QPR Official Site - MAHON SET FOR SURGERY
- R's vice-captain Gavin Mahon will be ruled out for at least four months following the news that the midfielder requires surgery on his left knee.
- The 32 year-old is pencilled in for knee surgery on Tuesday and as Head Physio Paul Hunter explained, the former Watford man is likely to be sidelined for a considerable period of time.
- "It's an unfortunate injury," Hunter told www.qpr.co.uk.
- "It's reached a stage where he needs to go under knife and although the timing isn't exactly perfect, we're confident it will prove to be the best course of action in the long term."
- Despite the unfortunate news, R's gaffer Jim Magilton believes Mahon's injury represents another member of his squad with the opportunity to impress, commenting: "Of course it's a blow losing another very experienced player.
- "We suffered a major setback earlier in the season by losing Martin (Rowlands) but bounced back in style and I'm confident we've got the squad to bounce back again from this one.
- "It represents someone with a chance to stake a claim for the shirt and like I've said all along this season, it's a squad game nowadays and everyone will have to stand up and be counted at some stage."
- Meanwhile, Rowan Vine has undergone a minor hernia operation in Germany.
- The R's striker - who was sidelined for the majority of last season owing to a broken leg - has been nursing the injury for the last few weeks
.
- However, as Hunter explained, a decision was taken by the R's backroom staff for the former Birmingham City front-man to use the international break to eradicate the problem.
- "Rowan has been struggling with his hernia for the last couple of weeks, but he's battled on for the benefit of the team," said Hunter.
- "The international break provided us with a perfect opportunity to send him away and get it cleared up and all things being equal, we expect him to be back and available for First Team action within a fortnight."

Rangers were 4-0 down at home to Newcastle United. Mullery wasn’t especially eloquent, just livid. But that was enough: QPR pulled it back to 5-5." FoufFourTwo

Guardian/Richard Williams - Flavio Briatore to demand €1m payout from FIA• World Council 'blinded by desire for revenge' alleges Briatore
• Pat Symonds to join Italian's appeal to overturn lifetime ban

- Flavio Briatore, the former Renault principal banished from Formula One for his part in the Crashgate scandal, will allege that the World Motor Sport Council of the FIA, chaired by Max Mosley, was "clearly blinded by an excessive desire for personal revenge" when he appeals against his life ban from motor sport in a Paris court later this month.
- Documents seen by the Guardian reveal that Briatore is asking for a total annulment of the FIA's instruction to its members – race organisers, teams or drivers – not to have any dealings with him. He is also demanding a minimum of €1m (£900,000) in compensation for the damage to his reputation. The case will be heard by France's high court, the Tribunal de Grande Instance, on 24 November.
- The Guardian also learnt yesterday that Pat Symonds, Renault's former executive director of engineering, will join Briatore's appeal, attempting to have his own five-year ban overturned on the grounds that the FIA, the international motor sport federation, and its World Council conducted the original hearings in an improper fashion.
- Briatore and Symonds were accused by their former driver, Nelson Piquet Jr, of instructing him to crash during the 2008 Singapore grand prix to secure a victory for the team's No1 driver, Fernando Alonso. Whereas Briatore denied all knowledge of a conspiracy, Symonds alleged that the idea had been thought up by the driver himself. The affair came to light as a result of Piquet's allegations after he had been sacked by the team in August.
- At an FIA hearing in September, following the resignations of Briatore and Symonds, Renault were also handed an indefinite ban from motor sport – but in their case it was suspended for two years. Shortly afterwards the French team announced their decision to remain in Formula One.
- Briatore claims that many of the procedures adopted during the original investigation and hearing were contrary to both the FIA's International Sporting Code and the laws of France, where the federation has its headquarters. The 58-year-old Italian's statement of claim refers to "the excessive and abusive power clearly exercised by both the World Council, in particular, and the FIA, in general" and "the breach by the World Council of the most basic rules of procedure and the rights to a fair trial".
- The "obligation to boycott" Briatore, the statement says, is not among the sanctions authorised by the Sporting Code. According to Professor Didier Poracchia, a specialist in sporting law at the University of Aix-Marseille, "the most serious sanction available to the World Council is disqualification" – entailing the withdrawal of the licence of the offending party. As a general manager and driver's agent, however, Briatore has never been required to hold a licence.
- In failing to separate the prosecuting, investigating and judging roles, Briatore claims, the FIA breached the rules concerning fair trials established by the European Convention on Human Rights. "The decisions to carry out an investigation and to submit it to the World Council were taken by the same person, Max Mosley, the FIA president," the statement says. Mosley "assumed the roles of complainant, investigator, prosecutor and judge".
- During 2009, the statement alleges, there had been "some extremely violent disputes" between Briatore, representing the Formula One Teams Association, and Mosley. "Mr Briatore had, in the constructors' names, in fact threatened the FIA and the FOM (Formula One Management) group ... to instigate a parallel competition, organised without the FIA and without the FOM as rights manager."
- The disputes over the threat of a breakaway series, it continues, led Mosley to abandon his plan to stand for a fifth term as president in last month's election and forced Bernie Ecclestone, the chief executive of the FOM, to grant the constructors more favourable financial terms for their participation.
- Ecclestone, it adds, "took part and was able to vote in the deliberations of the World Council, and was a directly interested party in Renault not suffering a sanction that might discourage it from continuing its participation in the Formula One world championship and could, moreover, be hostile to Mr Briatore as a result of stances taken by him during the previous year on behalf of the constructors involved in Formula One."
- The outcome of Briatore's appeal is likely to determine his ability to continue in his role as the chairman and majority shareholder of Queens Park Rangers. The Football League has said that it will wait for the result of the action before discussing the question of whether he has breached their fit-and-proper-persons rule." Guardian
