Burnley 1-0 QPR
Andy Gray scored 11 minutes from time as Burnley earned a victory which saw them move above their opponents in the Championship table.
Neither side had particularly looked like creating a chance until Alan Mahon crossed from the right and Gray drilled home with his right foot from 12 yards.
Mahon had Burnley's first chance, sending in a left-footed curler which was parried by QPR keeper Paul Jones.
For Rangers, Marc Nygaard's second-half shot forced a save from Brian Jensen.
Burnley boss Steve Cotterill praised his player Alan Mahon:
"He's a very good player, an absolute gem, the jewel in our crown. He will make us play," said Cotterill.
Meanwhile, match-winner Andy Gray also thanked his team-mate for his part in the goal.
"It's nice to score I've always been confident I can score goals. It was a great ball from Alan. All it had to do was stick it in the back of the net."
QPR caretaker boss Gary Waddock paid tribute to Andy Gray:"He's a goalscorer of Premiership quality who sticks the ball into the back of the net," said Waddock.
"He has been there and seen it and done it and today he had an opportunity to finish and he took it - that is quality finishing from him.
"I was disappointed with the result but pleased with the attitude of the players at Burnley."

COTTERILL HAILS 'JEWEL' MAHON
Burnley boss Steve Cotterill hailed a man-of-the-match performance by Alan Mahon in the 1-0 win over QPR.
Mahon is on loan at Turf Moor from Premiership Wigan and will join the Clarets in a permanent deal at the end of the season.
His all-round ability illuminated an otherwise dull end-of-season affair.
Mahon created the only goal 11 minutes from time, producing a delightful turn and pass to send striker Andy Gray clear to score with a convincing finish beyond goalkeeper Paul Jones for his third goal since joining the Clarets from Sunderland.
Cotterill said: "He's a very good player, an absolute gem, the jewel in our crown. He will make us play."
Match-winner Gray, who joined Burnley to resurrect his career said: "It's nice to score I've always been confident I can score goals. It was a great ball from Alan Mahon and all it had to do was stick it in the back of the net.
"As a striker you want to play on a Saturday and score the winning goal."
A tactical change by Cotterill proved decisive although the manager was modest about his own contribution.
"We had to be patient today and ended up making a change from two up front to one up front to win the game. That sounds a bit strange but I felt we had to make the changes, monopolise the ball a bit more.
"We were hoping to get Mahon on the ball and that he could slide one in for the striker and it worked."
Rangers caretaker boss Gary Waddock, whose side created precious little, was left to reflect on the match-winning strike from Gray.
"He's a goalscorer of Premiership quality who sticks the ball into the back of the net. He's been there and seen it and done it and today he had an opportunity to finish and he took it - that's quality finishing.
"I was disappointed with the result but pleased with the attitude of the players."
