QPR's "Annus Horribilis" - Marking a Year Since the Alleged "Incident" at Loftus Road

-
This week, QPR's much-loved,former Chairman Bill Power and former QPR CEO, Mark Devlin along with Mark's son, the pilot and two others from Swindon were involved in a horrible plane crash. It was a week which saw QPR fight back to draw 2-2 at home to Leeds; sell Danny Shittu to Watford from between 1.6 million and 3 million pounds. And saw QPR sign two hopefully classy players: Zesh Rehman from Fulham and Darren Blackstock fom Southampton
As Bill Power remains in hospital, should just note that this weekend marks the one year mark since "The Alleged Incident" at Loftus Road preceding the Sheffield United Game which led to the following headlines (and then after a trial, the acuittal, of all seven of the accused]
QPR Director Quit at Gunpoint
QPR chairman has gun held to head in attack at ground
11 held after gun attack on QPR boss
Men cleared in QPR threats case
Trial shone light on QPR 'soap opera'
After this incident, came the Board Room Meeting in which Dunga flew in and Bill Power was voted out as Chairman with Gianni Paladini taking the helm as QPR Chairman and defacto CEO (with Antonio Caliendo later coming in as Chairman of QPR Holdings); and CEO, Mark Devlin's position being made redundant.
And headlines such as
QPR POWER STRUGGLE GOES ON
Various other news reports. There have been statements; assertions; counter-assertions. And much more. And of course, this May and June saw "The Trial" (and the verdicts of 'Not Guilty." Meanwhile, Manager Ian Holloway has also since departed after having been put on "Gardening leave" (along with coaches, Gary Penrice and Tim Breaker). And Gary Waddock became first Acting Manager and then this summer, Manager.
A fuller overview of all the on and off-the-field peaks and troughs of the past year will be for later!
