Tomorrow’s match could be Michael Mancienne’s last for QPR, with the defender’s loan deal from Chelsea set to expire.
However, boss John Gregory will seek permission to extend the stay of the England Under-19 international.
A Rangers spokesman told PA Sport: “We will start negotiations on Friday and hopefully get things sorted before the next game (against Coventry). “It’s down to Chelsea really – it’s a similar situation to that with (fellow Chelsea loan player) Jimmy Smith.”
Rangers are likely to be without veteran striker Kevin Gallen after he lasted only nine minutes of last weekend’s substitute appearance against Luton.
However, midfielder Steve Lomas should return from suspension, while Martin Rowlands could be back after missing the last three matches due to a groin problem.
Young forward Ray Jones is still struggling with a hip problem, while defender Pat Kanyuka (hamstring) is likely to miss out along with forward Paul Furlong, who is still building match-fitness following a thigh injury.
Marc Bircham also misses out with a hamstring injury but is nevertheless keen to resolve his uncertain future at the club.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and has yet to be offered a new deal.
“I probably need to know about my future by Christmas,” said Bircham.
“If Christmas comes and goes and a player has still not been offered a new contract, it is normally the case that he will be leaving the club.
“I am waiting for the club to get in touch with me.”
