MK Dons COMPLETE KNIGHT SIGNING
Good Evening
Tonight we have signed Leon Knight from Swansea City on an 18-month contract with a one-year option for an undisclosed fee. Leon has an eye for goal, he's quick and has experience and is a player I have had my eye on for a while.
I am looking forward to working with him because he is an interesting character, but there is no doubt in my mind we will have some good times together and he will do very well for this club.

SWANSEA STATEMENT - Knight completes move to MK Dons
Swansea City have completed the transfer of striker Leon Knight to MK Dons this morning for an undisclosed fee.Knight signed from Brighton in January 2006 for £125,000 on a two-and-a-half-year deal and actually scored a hat-trick on his debut against the MK Dons at the Liberty Stadium. He went on to score 19 goals in 35 appearances for the club before being put on the transfer list.Having recently returned from a loan spell at Barnsley, the striker agreed to join the League Two promotion hopefuls this afternoon.Knight has signed an 18-month contract with a one-year option.
Club statement"A lot has been said between Leon Knight and Swansea City over recent months, but now is the time for everyone to move on."Rather than look to blame any particular party in this event, we now need to draw a line under the whole affair and move on."Unfortunately, as in life, things don't always work out as planned and we wish Leon all the best at his new club."Swansea City Football Club will not be making any more comments regarding Leon Knight.''
MK Dons boss Martin Allen said: "Leon has an eye for goal, he's quick, experienced and is a player I have had my eye on for a while."I am looking forward to working with him because he is an interesting character, but there is no doubt in my mind we will have some good times together and he will do very well for this club." [Three and half years ago, QPR were trying desperately to sign Leon Knight but were beaten by Brighton!
BBC - August 21 2003 - Brighton land Chelsea striker
Leon Knight has signed for BrightonBrighton have beaten Queens Park Rangers to the signing of Chelsea striker Leon Knight.
The 20-year-old, who has been on loan with the Seagulls, turned down Rangers after both Second Division clubs agreed a deal with Chelsea.
Knight had a loan spell with QPR in 2001 and Rangers' boss Ian Holloway tried to persuade him to return.
But Knight opted to stay at the Withdean Stadium, where he scored twice against QPR on Monday.
Holloway made his move for Knight after selling midfielder Richard Langley to Cardiff last week and had hoped to have him on board by the time his side faced Steve Coppell's men.
Knight was once tipped as a future replacement for Gianfranco Zola at Chelsea.
But he has been unable to establish himself in the first-team at Stamford Bridge.
As well as his spells with Rangers and Brighton, he has been loaned to Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday. BBC
Holloway keen to sign Knight
QPR have entered the race to sign Chelsea's highly-rated striker Leon Knight.
The diminutive 20-year-old forward is currently on loan with Brighton and ironically scored a brace as the Seagulls beat QPR 2-1 on Monday evening.
Brighton are also keen to sign Knight on a permanent basis but QPR boss Ian Holloway has confirmed that he has held talks with the player.
"We witnessed first hand what this player is capable of last night and he is just the type of player we need to boost our promotion chances," he told the club's official website.
"Talks have been underway since before the game and I have to say that I am very impressed with him as a young man as well as a footballer. He's a good listener, very mature and I would love to sign him." Knight
