QPR's FA Cup Run - A Quarter of a Century Ago

-
There is - rightly - a lot of focus on this being the 40th anniversary of QPR's 1967 League Cup run culminating in the Wembley victory.

But this season is also the 25th Anniversary of QPR's 1981/1982 FA Cup Run which took them to Wembley (and back again for the replay). A QPR team whose midfield consisted of our last two Managers: John Gregory and Gary Waddock. Saw one youngester - Peter Hucker come into the team and emerge as the Cup Hero; another youngester, Warren Neil make a brief - crucial - appearance in the Third Round replay and also in the FA Cup Final Replay. Clive Allen who was "destined" to score just after his 21st Birthday (but was injured)... Things under Terry Venables looked so bright for the future.
