Tommy Doherty Tommy has made three strong appearances in February
Wanderers midfielder Tommy Doherty has been included in the four man shortlist for February's League Two Powerade Player of the Month.
'Doc' has made just three appearances this month but contributed largely to the seven points won in those games, almost completing a maximum 270 minutes in the process.
The man on loan from QPR controlled the middle of the park in the victory at Wrexham at the beginning of February and then netted his first goal for the club with a superb strike in the victory over Bury two weeks later.
Sandwiched between that was another busy display against Notts County and the type of performance that holds him in very high esteem with manager Paul Lambert.
"Tommy is a terrific player and he's done extremely well for us. We miss him when he's not in the side and it was a blow that he wasn't available on Saturday," he said.
Also in the running for the award, that will be announced Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday Show on Sunday 4th March, is Ciaran Toner of Grimsby, Lincoln City striker Spencer Weir-Daley and Stockport County stopper Wayne Hennessey.
Since signing on loan from Wolves in January, Hennessey is yet to concede a goal for the Hatters in eight games that they've taken maximum points from.
Elsewhere, former Wanderers loanee Bas Savage has received a nomination for the League One prize. Big Bas has scored twice for Brighton & Hove Albion this month whilst attracting media attention with a celebratory 'moonwalk' that we were never blessed with at Adams Park. Wycombe Official
Ex-QPR's Dean Parrett Scored for England U-16s FA - U16s slip up in Slovenia Tuesday, 27 February 2007.Slovenia 3-1 England
Kenny Swain's U16s went down to a powerful Slovenian side in Koper, eventually losing out thanks to two goals in the last nine minutes for the home side.
The Young Lions, playing their first match of 2007, conceded an early goal due to a mix up in the defence and a poorly executed back pass that Adnan Besic took full advantage of to open the scoring.
Seizing on the loose ball Besic took the ball towards Declan Rudd's goal and finished clinically from the edge of the area.
England got back on level terms 17 minutes later through Dean Parrett, the 15-year-old midfielder who recently joined Tottenham Hotspur.
When Harry Forrester fired in a powerful effort from the edge of the area, Parrett was quickest to react to a fumble from the Slovenian keeper and stabbed home the equaliser.
Despite restoring parity in the scoreline, the visitors were unable to wrest control of the game and Slovenia continued to dominate the posession and scoring chances. Despite their dominance, Slovenia were forced to wait until nine minutes to go before they took the lead once more.
Antonio Delamea Mlimar reacted quickest to an inswinging corner and headed home from close range giving the home side sight of victory.
The win was assured when Besic grabbed his second of the game just two minutes from time, as he latched on to a defence-splitting pass and finished with aplomb.
