On This Day, Twenty-Five Years Ago: Double Trouble for QPR

-
Twenty-Five Years Ago:

May 11, 1982: Luton ended Terry Venables' QPR's promotion effort by defeating QPR 3-2 in the old-named "Second Division). Luton finished Champions and QPR finished 5th - in the days before the playoffs - FINAL TABLE

Just as important as the result, QPR Captain and brilliant defender, Glen Roeder was sent off during the Luton game - meaning he would miss the FA Cup Replay, should there be one. (There was of course, and QPR were forced to play the replay without Roeder - as well as without brilliant striker, Clive Allen. And with Steve Wicks already cup-tied and inelligible to play.)
