Match Report: - Toronto FC run riot over FC Dallas
Canadian side's attacking blitz too much for Hoops to handle

TORONTO -- The team with the best overall record in Major League Soccer came to Toronto -- and it was no contest. But it was Toronto FC that recorded the big victory, routing FC Dallas 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at BMO Field in the biggest win in Toronto history and Dallas' heaviest defeat of the season.
Maurice Edu knocked in a Danny Dichio rebound to open the scoring in the 22nd minute, and Dichio himself scored just a few minutes later as part of an extended TFC assault on the Hoops' goal. ...
Goldthwaite's centering pass found Dichio in the goal area, but Dichio was stopped twice at point-blank range by FCD 'keeper Dario Sala. Midfielder Edu was well-positioned, though, to knock the ball home for his second goal of the season.
Dichio broke through with a goal of his own just a few minutes later. Carl Robinson sent a beautifully-aimed direct free kick that found Dichio just outside of the goal area. The big forward headed the ball past Sala for his team-leading fourth goal of the season....
The only negative for Toronto FC on the day was a possible injury to Dichio. The striker required on-field treatment for an apparent right ankle injury in the 33rd minute, and was clearly favoring the injury for the remainder of the half. Andrea Lombardo replaced Dichio at the start of the second half.....

Dichio's Injury - Metro - Canada MONDAY, JUNE 18, 2007
An hour after his team’s 4-0 win over FC Dallas yesterday, Toronto FC striker Danny Dichio hobbled through the locker room with his swollen left ankle swaddled in a thick tensor bandage. Fresh from an X-ray at the Ricoh Coliseum, he was waiting for another X-ray at a hospital that might reveal just how badly he’d been injured.
Late in the first half he leapt over Dallas defender Clarence Goodson for a header, then rolled his left ankle when he landed.
After the game he said the ankle was numb, and early X-rays showed what might be a small crack in the bone.
“It had nothing to do with (Goodson),” Dichio said. “I landed on my own foot and put my whole pressure onto the bottom of my foot as I landed. I’ve just got to see what they say at the X-ray and hopefully it’s good news.”...
“If I get one glimpse at (Robinson’s) eyes where he knows he’s going to play it early for me, I know what position to get in,” Dichio said. “He can put it on a sixpence in there for me. It was a fantastic ball.”
Eight minutes after that goal he twisted his ankle.
Dichio realizes his injury comes at an inconvenient time — Toronto now plays six straight road games — but he won’t count himself out until a doctor says he can’t play.
“I’m not going to start panicking yet because we don’t want to put people into pressure situations,” Dichio said. “But I know we’re short on forwards at the moment. Jeff (Cunningham) is scoring, and I know Andrea (Lombardo) is going away but we’ve got people who can step up.”
Despite his shrinking roster, Johnston’s not worried either, but realizes Dichio’s injury makes signing Samuel, who just finished a week-long tryout, an even higher priority.
Robinson headed Toronto’s third goal in the 65th minute from a pass by Kevin Goldthwaite and Cunningham nodded in the fourth in injury time. News
