QPR Official Site - PARKER APPOINTED
The Club are delighted to announce the temporary appointment of Paul Parker as Commercial & Communication Director.
Parker, who enjoyed four fantastic years in W12 as a player, starts his new role on Monday and will oversee the Commercial department, as well as providing assistance to the Public Relations team.
"I've got myself back into a Club that has always meant so much to me. It's 20 years to the month that I joined the Club as a player, so it's a nice way to celebrate that anniversary!'' he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"I'll be working with the staff that are already in place, but hopefully I'll be able to open a few doors and drive the Club's off-the-field activities to create further revenue.
"I've got some very good contacts within the commercial and PR world, so that's a good start, but we'll just take one step at a time.''
Parker added: "I've been around the Club quite a lot during the last few weeks and I'm convinced they've got the right people in place to take it to the next level.
"My job is to aid and assist and it's an exciting and challenging role for me. Just as I did as a player, I'll give 100 per-cent in this role.''
A nippy and incisive defender, Parker joined QPR in 1987 and went on to make 125 appearances for the R's, as well as representing England in the 1990 World Cup Finals.
Chairman Gianni Paladini welcomed Parker's appointment, commenting: "He's a legend at this Football Club and a fantastic addition to our staff.
"If he can do the same off the pitch as he did on it during his time here as a player, then we will all be delighted.''
*The QPR World cameras will catch up with Paul during next week, as he settles into his new role at Loftus Road. QPR
[No Announcement about the club about who - if anyone - he might possibly be replacing - although one specific person, has supposedly departed]
