QPR Official Site- PROUD IN DEFEAT
-Paulo Sousa was proud in defeat, as the R's bowed out of the FA Cup at Turf Moor.
- Jay Rodriguez's 119th minute strike clinched it for the Clarets, after Steven Thompson cancelled out Samuel Di Carmine's strike in normal time.
- Sousa told www.qpr.co.uk: "I'm proud of the players.
- "Of course, I wanted to win the game. Playing in the way we did, it was unfair we lost. We played very well. Tactically we were first class and we dominated.
- "Once again, we created everything to win the match, but once again we were unlucky. I believe in my players and it is coming. If we continue to build these chances we will reach where I want to be and will pick up wins.
- "My team played very, very well and I am proud of each and every one of them - I am just sorry we couldn't give our travelling fans the victory they and we deserved."
- Sousa added: "If we play to this quality I have no doubts that an away victory is coming. Our next two games are away and if we play like this then we will pick up points.
- The R's gaffer also reserved special praise for youngster Romone Rose, who came off the bench in the second half and showed some nice touches on the left hand side of the R's five-man midfield.
- "Today we were missing a lot of players - Dexter, Lee and Patrick all had problems, Wayne couldn't come, so we had a few youth players in the travelling squad.
- "I thought Romone Rose did well. He has trained with us before and it is important to work on our youth team and players, and he will have learnt a lot." QPR

SPORTING LIFE - Managerial Comments
- Burnley boss Owen Coyle believes his side thoroughly deserved their extra-time victory over QPR in the FA Cup third-round replay.
- Local boy Jay Rodriguez scored in injury time of extra time to set up a fourth-round clash with West Brom, after goals from Samuel Di Carmine and Steven Thompson kept the scores level in normal time.
- Asked whether his side were worth winners, Coyle said: "There's no doubt about that. For me, it would have been an injustice, a travesty, if we hadn't gone through tonight.
- "Again, what could possibly go against us went against us. We had Martin Paterson pull up in the warm-up and I couldn't take the chance so I just withdrew him and Robbie Blake came in.
- "Chris McCann came off injured and we reshuffled again.
- "But we did well. I thought the first half was a wee bit scrappy but we dominated and we started the second well.
- "I thought we were well worth the victory."
- The Clarets boss also praised the determination of his side - without a win in five before tonight's victory - who have already played 35 games this season.
- "For that group of players to play 35 games... their courage and their bravery know no bounds," Coyle added.
- "It would have been easy at 1-0 and having had a bit of bad luck with results going against you, but they galvanised themselves and pushed on.
- "I'm absolutely delighted with the effort and energy."

QPR manager Paulo Sousa praised his players despite the loss.
- "I'm proud of my team," he said. "Tactically we played perfectly and dominated the game. We created a lot of chances.
- "It's unfair for us. It is disappointing to lose in this way because we played very well

Burnley Official Site - Coyle Hails "Courage and Bravery"
- Owen Coyle hailed his side's courage and bravery after Burnley came from behind to win their FA Cup replay against QPR in dramatic circumstances.
- Teenage Jay Rodriguez stroked home the winner with virtually the last kick after Steven Thompson cancelled out Samuel Di Carmine's strike to send the third round replay into extra time.
- And after two hard fought ties, Coyle believes the Clarets have earned a crack at Premier League WBA in round four.
- He said: "For me that would have been a travesty if we hadn't got through in that cup tie tonight.- "Before the game I told the lads let's go and try to have an FA Cup run similar to the Carling Cup exploits and I am absolutely delighted with the effort and energy.
-"We know we can play better but I was delighted with the effort even though everything that could go against us did.
- "Martin Paterson was injured in the warm-up and I couldn't take a chance of aggravating his injury, so Robbie Blake took his place.
- "Then Chris McCann got injured early on and we had to reshuffle again. But over the piece we dominated and although you cannot legislate for the mistake for the goal we conceded I cannot praise the character and desire enough to get back into the game.
- "Brian Jensen made a great save in extra time, but for me that would have been an injustice because I thought we were well worth the victory."
- Coyle added: "That is 35 games we have played this season and I think there is only 16 players that have started more than one game.
- "Russell Anderson is one of them, so that shows the amount of games they have played, but their courage and bravery knows no bounds."
- Rodriguez is making a habit of stunning late winners, following up his Carling Cup winner against Fulham back in September with another memorable strike.
- Coyle said: "He's a goalscorer! There is still a lot of room for improvement, but Jay is only a kid and it's great to get him and Alex MacDonald match time.
- "They were in there on merit and that's the energy and youth that will help us at the moment.
- "I have tried to bolster the squad to give us that freshness, but that costs money.
- "We don't have anything in terms of fees to be paying, but we have tried a couple of loans and we will continue to try.
- "But if the same group of players have to go again, then we will re-shuffle and go accordingly." Burnley

Telegraph/Jeremy Cross- Jay Rodriguez continues Burnley run
Burnley (0) 2 Queens Park Rangers (0) 1 AET; (1-1 after 90 mins)

- Jay Rodriguez enhanced his growing cult status in Burnley with a winning goal in the final minute of extra time to secure his side a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the expense of Queens Park Rangers.
- The game appeared to be heading for a penalty shoot-out when Rodriguez, who had come on as a substitute in normal time, capitalised on a mistake by Damion Stewart before going on to finish calmly.
- Steven Thompson had salvaged Burnley's faltering Cup hopes with a quick equaliser as the stalemate between these Championship rivals continued to frustrate both managers.
- Rangers looked to have done enough to secure a fourth-round tie at West Bromwich Albion when Samuel Di Carmine put them ahead, only for Thompson to level matters three minutes later.

Daily Mail/Colin Wood - Burnley 2 QPR 1: Rodriguez fires late winner to send Burnley into fourth round
- Burnley substitute Jay Rodriguez scored in the final minute of extra time to earn his side a trip to West Bromwich Albion in the next round.
- Rodriguez, who hit a late winner against Fulham in the Carling Cup earlier in the season, pounced with seconds to go.
Burnley striker Steven Thompson had earlier marked his return to the starting line-up by equalising to take the game into extra time after Italian Samuel Di Carmine had given QPR the lead.
- After seeing his side win for the first time in six games, Burnley boss Owen Coyle
said: ‘I think we were well worth the victory. That would have been the biggest injustice if we’d not got through that tie.
- 'Everything that could go against us did. I can’t praise the character and desire of the players enough.’
- Burnley lost 15-goal top scorer Martin Paterson to injury before kick-off and it got worse on 19 minutes when midfielder Chris McCann was injured, being replaced by Alan Mahon.
- The substitute was at fault for QPR’s goal after 54 minutes. He was robbed by Mikele Leigertwood, who set up Di Carmine and the striker slotted the ball into the net.
- But on the hour Thompson levelled after Joey Gudjonsson had an effort saved on the line.
- Burnley captain Steven Caldwell collected his fifth booking of the season on 66 minutes and misses next week’s Carling Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham.
- In extra time Brian Jensen kept Burnley level with a fine save from Damien Delaney, but local boy Rodriguez had the last word, beating Damion Stewart to a long ball and firing home.
