QPR's Relative Lack of Ambition...Miller Supposedly Set for QPR

Daily Mail - QPR can stay where they are unless they splash the cash
- QPR are not showing much ambition in the transfer market are they?
While their Premier League equivalents, Manchester City, place bid after bid for a series of half-decent players, the richest club in the Championship seem to have concentrated on turning loans into permanent deals, snapping up those judged unworthy of the top flight.
- Helguson (right) isn't the answer for a team eyeing promotion
Perhaps that shouldn't be sniffed at with the prophets of doom warning of impending financial meltdown in the game, but before Tuesday night's FA Cup replay with Burnley they were on a run of five draws from the last six matches - and some of their new signings took part in those.
Rangers' position in the Championship table is none too promising and they are in desperate need of inspiration.
If Rangers' super-rich owners are serious about promotion they would be bringing in players who could get them up and keep them there.
- Wayne Routledge might just do the business but Gary Borrowdale will hardly get the fans off their seats and there is a good reason that Heidar Helguson and Lee Cook are no longer playing in the Premier League, where QPR aspire to be - they are not good enough. Mail

Paul Warburton/London Informer - QPR move on Liam Miller loan deal
QPR are ready to gamble a loan deal on Liam Miller – a player who ended up on Sunderland’s transfer list because he lost his alarm clock.
Former Black Cats boss Roy Keane fell out with the Republic of Ireland international over his poor timekeeping, but Hoops see Miller as prospective cover for Mikele Leigertwood, wanted by three clubs ready to shell out a £1m-plus for the midfielder.
Sunderland have agreed to pay the lion’s share of Miller’s £16,000-a-week wages and will offer the 27-year-old to Hoops for free at the end of the season should the loan work out. London Informer
