Goal.com 5 May 2009- Adel Taarabt Ready To Leave Tottenham
- The Moroccan youngster believes he will leave the London-based club in the summer due to a lack of first-team minutes.
- In an interview with Moroccan football website mountakhab.net, Adel Taarabt has confirmed his intention to leave Tottenham Hotspur during the summer for a team where he will be able to gain experience by playing more minutes.
- The player was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers due to his desire to play competitive football and Tottenham’s inability to accommodate that need, but is now sidelined with a knee injury which has required surgery. Nevertheless, this hasn’t reduced the amount of interest in the talented midfielder.
- Taarabt said, “Queens Park Rangers made an offer to Tottenham, they want to buy me but there are no negotiations at the moment.
- “My agent has a meeting with Tottenham’s team officials in a week and I think that whatever happens that I’ll leave there at the end of this season.
- “In any case, they won’t be able to give me what I want so a departure is inevitable.”
- According to the article, teams from England, France, Spain and Germany are said to be interested in acquiring Taarabt’s services.
- Meanwhile, the former RC Lens player took the opportunity to assure supporters of the Moroccan national team that his recovery is going according to plan.
- However, he admitted it was unlikely that he would be able to play against Cameroon on June 6 but was doing everything he could to be ready to face Togo in the following World Cup qualifier. - Rami Ayari, Goal.com
