BBC - Blackstock happy to remain at QPR
- Queens Park Rangers striker Dexter Blackstock says he is happy to remain at the club next season.
- The 23-year old was loaned to Nottingham Forest last season in a move that angered then-boss Paulo Sousa, who did not want him to leave.
- Former England Under-21 man Blackstock told BBC London 94.9: "At the moment I've got a year left on my contract.
- "Unless that changes or anything happens in the meantime I'll be a QPR player for next season."
- Blackstock made a goal-scoring return to the side, as QPR defeated Aldershot 4-0 on Saturday before heading off for a pre-season tour of Slovakia.
- Having been at the centre of the rift between Sousa and the club's owners, with the Portuguese leaving QPR shortly afterwards, Blackstock now wants to concentrate on a positive future under new manager Jim Magilton.
- "I went on loan (to Nottingham Forest) for the last six games of the season, but it was just a loan and there was nothing permanent in the deal," he said.
- "Jim's been very good, the way he wants us to play is in the right way and right manner. I think he's got the respect of the players straight away."
- Magilton added that he has been pleased with the attitude of last season's top scorer since he took over as manager, and has hinted that Blackstock does have a part to play next season.
- He said: "Dexter's worked extremely hard in pre-season. Until that changes I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be (in my plans)."
- Meanwhile, Magilton hopes to make further additions to his squad before they kick off their Championship campaign at home to Blackpool on 8 August.
- He has already spent £3.5m on Argentine midfielder Alejandro Damian Faurlin, but with goalkeeper Lee Camp leaving to Forest and defender Damien Delaney joining Ipswich, there are still gaps to fill.
- "We've lost a goalkeeper and obviously a left-back so we'll be trying in the next couple of weeks to bring a few new signings in," he said.
- "If a good player comes along we'll try and entice him to London and entice him to QPR and let's hope that happens."
- Asked if funds will be made available for new players, Magilton added: "I'll go and identify a player, present it to the board and if the board say 'yes', wonderful, and we'll say 'A, B, C - one, two, three' whatever it takes to get good players into the club." BBC

- Thursday's training session at FC Mura in Murska Sobota will be open to all QPR supporters.
- The 90 minute session, which is scheduled to start at 11.15am approximately, will see Jim Magilton's men put through their paces a day after the friendly fixture against NK Celje on Wednesday evening.
- Supporters should note, however, that all other training sessions in Slovenia will be behind-closed-doors, as Magilton and co. continue their build-up to the start of the new season. QPR

- The QPR First Team squad touched down in Slovenia on Monday evening, with boss Jim Magilton ready to run the rule over his side over the next seven days.
- Rangers play two matches in five days on tour, but Magilton believes he will arguably learn more about his squad off the pitch, than on it, over the coming days.
- "This is a great opportunity for me to get to know the lads, and for them to get to know me and my staff too," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
- "I need to get to know what makes them tick - as players and as people.
- "Team bonding plays a crucial role throughout the course of a season and we'll be looking to get the very best out of all the lads' personalities."
- Magilton added: "We're here to work hard, make no mistake about that.
- "It's a training camp totally geared towards the start of the season on August 8th. Everything we're doing now is in preparation for the opening day fixture against Blackpool."
