- The Draw has been made: In the Carling Cup 3rd Round, QPR will play Chelsea at Chelsea. Games are played week of September 21.

Chelsea Official Site - LOCAL DERBY IN CARLING CUP DRAW
- Carlo Ancelotti's first taste of English domestic cup football will come with a local derby, at home to QPR in the Carling Cup third round.
- The game against our west London neighbours will be played either on Tuesday 22 or Wednesday 23 September.
- We were knocked out of this competition by The Hoops back in 1986, the only time we have previously met in the League Cup.
- The last time we met Rangers we were 1-0 FA Cup third round winners at Stamford Bridge in January 2008, goalkeeper Lee Camp diverting a Claudio Pizarro shot into his own net. Chelsea

- Jim Magilton's QPR have been drawn away to Chelsea in the Third Round of the Carling Cup.
- Following our 5-0 defeat of Exeter City in the opening round, and the 2-1 triumph over Accrington Stanley on Tuesday evening, the R's will now take on Carlo Ancelotti's Blues.
- The last time we played our local rivals was in the Third Round of the FA Cup in January 2008, when Chelsea won 1-0 as a result of an unfortunate Lee Camp own goal.

- Martin Rowlands is looking forward to QPR's fourth big Cup-tie in two years after the Carling Cup draw pitted the R's against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Third Round fixture will be played week commencing 21st September, and the R's skipper told www.qpr.co.uk: "I'm absolutely delighted with the draw.
- "We've been really fortunate over the last couple of years.
- "We had Chelsea away in the FA Cup in 2007/8, and last season we were away to Aston Villa in the Third Round of the Carling Cup and Manchester United in the Fourth Round.
- "We can't complain, can we?"
- Rowlands hasn't featured since the opening day draw at Blackpool owing to an ankle injury, but he expects to be fighting fit for the trip to the Bridge.
- "Hopefully I'll be available for the Peterborough match after the international break, so I definitely expect to be ready for Chelsea," he said.
- And the 30-year-old midfielder insists the R's will travel to the home of the Blues without fear.
- "We've got nothing to be afraid of," he added.
- "We lost narrowly there in the FA Cup, and even against Manchester United we only lost to a late penalty, while we beat Villa on their patch.
- "And I firmly believe the squad we have now is stronger than the one we took to the Bridge last time.
- "Obviously it is going to be a very tough match for us, but we'll go there with confidence."
