...QPR
How did they do last year? Abysmally compared to the hype they generated, but Paulo Sousa, Gareth Ainsworth and particularly Iain Dowie did well to keep them in the top half given the way the club has been mismanaged.

Who's the gaffer? Former Northern Ireland midfielder Jim Magilton will be looking to prove Ipswich wrong for sacking him and has a great chemistry with assistant boss John Gorman.

Who's the player to watch? Midfielder Adel Taarabt is on a season-long loan from Tottenham and could be a star player for Rangers - if he gets his own way.

How will they do? "QPR are the hardest side in the division to predict," says BBC Sport's David McIntyre. "Last season I confidently wrote off their chances, but now I'm not so sure. Expectations are lower, there are signs co-owner Flavio Briatore is taking a back seat and Rangers do have some good players. I believe they are the one team in that division who could storm away if they could just build up some momentum. The question is whether they can get off the ground. Magilton's first task is to get enough points to avoid a complete disaster, because such a volatile club really could head out of the Championship in either direction."

QPR Official Site - ROSE JOINS COBBLERS ON LOAN
- R's youngster Romone Rose has put pen to paper on a one month loan deal with Northampton Town.
- The talented teenager, who featured sporadically throughout the R's pre-season campaign, enjoyed a successful trial at Sixfields last week, and has now signed a one month deal with Stuart Gray's men.
- Rose is in line to make his Cobblers debut against League Two outfit Macclesfield on Saturday, and is also eligible to play in their Carling Cup first round tie versus Southampton next week. QPR

Northampton Official Site - COBBLERS BRING IN ROSE
- Northampton Town have signed QPR winger Romone Rose on a month's loan.
- The 19 year old made three appearances for the R's last season, and appeared for the Cobblers as a trialist in the recent pre-season friendly at MK Dons.
- "We have been looking for a right winger with pace and Romone has that," said boss Stuart Gray.
- "I was impressed with him and his attitude last weekend. It all happened rather quickly, but he got into his car and made the effort to drive to Milton Keynes and come and play for us as a trialist.
- "He hadn't met the lads before the game, but he got on the pitch early and he showed glimpses of what he can do. He has been training with us this week and I am sure that has helped him settle in and prepare him for the month ahead. Northampton
