QPR Official Site - ROWLANDS INJURY 'NOT SERIOUS'
- R's skipper Martin Rowlands has received a welcome boost this morning (Monday), with the news that his ankle injury isn't as bad as first feared.
- The Rangers midfielder punched the ground in frustration in the wake of a 50/50 challenge midway through the second half against Blackpool on Saturday, but following a scan earlier today, Head Physio Paul Hunter revealed the injury is 'not serious.'
- "It's a low grade ankle ligament injury," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
- "It's not serious at all, but we'll monitor him over the next few days and get him back on the training pitch as soon as possible." QPR

- The Queens Park Rangers skipper could face a length spell on the sidelines after hobbling off with an ankle injury during his side’s 1-1 draw with Blackpool at Loftus Road
- QPR are waiting to discover whether captain Martin Rowlands faces another long spell on the sidelines.
- Rowlands, who only recently returned from a knee problem, hobbled off with an ankle injury during Rangers’ 1-1 draw at home to Blackpool.
- The Republic of Ireland midfielder, 30, was due to undergo a scan this morning and will almost certainly miss tomorrow night’s Carling Cup match at Exeter.
- Boss Jim Magilton said: “He turned his ankle. At this stage it’s too early to say how bad the injury is.
- “It’ll be scanned and it’s just a question of waiting for the results.”
- Rangers badly missed Rowlands and playmaker Akos Buzsaky last season after both suffered cruciate ligament damage.
- The club can ill-afford to be without Rowlands again, although Buzsaky is at least closing in on his first start since November.
- Buzsaky came on as a second-half substitute on Saturday, when Peter Ramage’s 86th-minute equaliser rescued Magilton from a disastrous start to his reign as manager.
