QPR Official Site - EXCLUSIVE: WILLIAMS PENS DEAL
- Rangers have swooped to bring Peterborough United left-back Tommy Williams to Loftus Road on a short term loan deal.
- The 29 year-old - who enjoyed two loan spells in W12 earlier in his career - has put pen to paper on a deal until Saturday 4th January 2010.
- Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, R's gaffer Jim Magilton expressed his delight at bringing the attacking full-back to the Club, commenting: "When we heard that Tommy might be available on loan, there was no holding us back.
- "To be fair, Gianni (Paladini) has worked wonders to get it done so quickly and we couldn't be more delighted to bring in a player of his calibre and experience."
- Williams, whose contract at London Road expires this summer, revealed his joy at penning a short-term deal.
- "I'm really excited," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
- "I enjoyed my time here previously and I can't wait to pull on the jersey and hopefully cement my place in the side."
- Williams added: "There's a very strong squad of players here, but the Club's ambitions match my own and I genuinely believe we can build on the fantastic start the lads have made to the season."
- Under the terms of the deal, Williams is eligible to play in the FA Cup, as long as QPR and Peterborough avoid each other in the third round draw.

- Williams Rejoins Queens Park Rangers
- Peterborough United left-back Tom Williams has joined Coca-Cola Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers on-loan until 4th January 2010.
- The experienced full-back will join the Hoops for a second spell after a loan stint at Loftus Road in the 2002-2003 campaign.
- Williams will be eligible to play in the FA Cup, but will be unable to play for QPR if they are drawn to face Posh. Williams has been suffering with an ankle injury of late, but is close to full fitness. Peterborough
Jim Magilton/Official Site 'IT WAS A NO BRAINER!'
- Jim Magilton believes the addition of Tommy Williams will add further competition for places in the R's squad, heading into a hectic period of fixtures leading up to Christmas.
- Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the Rangers gaffer said: "I just felt we needed a bit more competition in that department.
- "It's no reflection on Gary Borrowdale or Peter Ramage, who have both played in that left back position for us this season, but when a player of Tommy's quality becomes available, it's too good an opportunity to turn down.
- "It was a no brainer in that respect."
- The R's boss added: "He's got a quality left foot and as he showed here earlier in the season, he's got decent pace and a great delivery from wide areas.
- "It's a short term deal initially, but he's out of contract in the summer and he's got a great opportunity to impress us." QPR
