"...Poor old Pompey. £60 million in debt to so many creditors, one of whom, the Inland Revenue, now threatens them with winding up. For the moment at least, Paul Hart must be relieved Pompey sacked him so foolishly, and he found a berth at Queens Park Rangers. But the F1 axe still hovers above chairman Flavio Briatore and what then?" World Soccer
Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times - No thoughts of fourth round just yet
- GARY Borrowdale insists there will be no complacency in the QPR camp despite earning home advantage for their FA Cup replay with Sheffield United.
- Rangers survived last Sunday's third round trip to Bramall Lane with a 1-1 draw and are back on home turf for their second attempt to beat the Blades and break their barren run of nine years without an FA Cup victory.
- Borrowdale, who recently regained his place at left-back after injury, admitted: "I don't think most of us were aware of the club's recent cup record, but records are there to be broken.
"It's certainly not 'job done' yet - in the league anyone can beat anyone and it's no different in the cup. It's probably going to be another tough scrappy game like the first one, but we'll be looking forward to it.
"It wasn't a great spectacle on Sunday, but it was one of those days when the pitch wasn't the best and the main aim was to stay in the draw. You only get one stab at the FA Cup each year.
"When you're growing up, the FA Cup's the one every boy wants to be involved in and I'm no different. Even the foreign players that come over have heard of the competition and want to get as far in it as they can.
"It can be a distraction from the league, but sometimes it's a good thing to focus on other competitions. I think you want to play as many games as you can in the season and hopefully win them all."
Rangers boss Paul Hart agreed that his side still have plenty to do before they can contemplate their first FA Cup fourth round appearance since 2001.
"Sheffield United are a tough nut to crack and not for one minute am I thinking that the job's over, but we're still there," said Hart.
"It gives us a chance of progressing in a competition which is still, I feel, great value."
Tuesday's third round replay at Loftus Road kicks off at 7.45pm, with the winners due to travel to Bolton on January 23.
Rangers have never met Bolton in any cup competition. Their last trip to the Reebok Stadium, in October 2000, ended in a 3-1 defeat. Kilburn Times
