Paul Hart has swooped to bring Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme to Loftus Road.

The 23 year-old stopper, who has already spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United this season, has penned a loan deal until Sunday 31st January 2010.

Ikeme progressed through the youth ranks at Molineux, and first featured for the Club during the 2003/04 season, where he provided cover in the wake of an injury to regular number one Matt Murray.

A loan spell at Accrington Stanley followed later that season, with whom he made his senior debut in October 2004.

A hand injury curtailed his next loan spell, at Stockport County, but having returned to full fitness, he made his Wanderers debut against Chester City in a 5-1 Carling Cup victory in August 2005.

Injuries restricted his appearances in 2006/07, but in September 2008 he took his chance, playing in 10 consecutive league games as the Molineux Men clinched the Championship title.

Under the terms of the deal, Ikeme is not eligible to feature for the R's in the FA Cup. QPR

QPR Official Site - HART: 'CARL'S A GREAT ADDITION'
- R's gaffer Paul Hart believes the arrival of Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Carl Ikeme will provide great competition for places in the goalkeeping department.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Hart said: "We're very grateful to Wolves for allowing him to come out on loan to us.

"He's a young goalkeeper who I know they think a lot of and he's joining us to gain some very experience.

"He is certainly someone who I consider to be a great addition to the squad.

"He is coming here to challenge for the number one jersey, not just to warm the bench as a back-up." QPR
