- Neil Warnock has clinched his first signing as QPR Manager with the addition of Plymouth Argyle attacker Jamie Mackie.

The 24 year-old, who can play in a wide midfield role, as well as up-front, has penned a four year contract at Loftus Road, after the two Clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for his services.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Warnock expressed his delight at getting his man, commenting: "I'm really pleased to get him in.

"Obviously with my connections down there, he's a player I've seen, heard and read a lot about.

"He was a stand-out striker for them this season.

"He's full of enthusiasm and when I first met him there was nothing else on his mind other than playing for QPR."

A scorer of eight goals in all competitions last season, Mackie arrives with a fine reputation, having been the stand-out performer in Argyle's 2009/10 Coca Cola Championship campaign.

A tricky customer with two good feet, Mackie is excited about the next chapter of his career in West London, commenting: "There was a lot of speculation, but as soon as I heard QPR were interested I didn't want to hear about any other Clubs.

"I'm really excited to be here.

"I'm excited to be working for a top Manager who knows all about the Championship.

"From my knowledge of the League, I am sure QPR will be right up there next season and that was a massive draw for me."

Mackie - who was linked with a move to Middlesbrough and Burnley in January - will join up with his new team-mates in pre-season training in early July. QPR

JAMIE Mackie has left Argyle to link up with former Pilgrims' manager Neil Warnock, bringing to an end a two and a half year stay at Home Park..

The 24-year-old forward has joined Championship side Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee, signing a four year deal with the London club.

Mackie, the Pilgrims' leading scorer in the Championship last season with eight goals, had one year left on his Argyle contract but was eager to move on this summer.

Argyle head coach Paul Mariner said: "Jamie had expressed a strong desire to leave Argyle.

"With his contract due to expire at the end of next season, we felt it was in the best interests of ourselves and Jamie to allow him to move now.

"There were a number of clubs interested in acquiring his services and we are very happy with the deal that we have struck with Queens Park Rangers.

"We thank Jamie for the commitment he has given the club during his stay at Home Park and wish him well for the future.

"Agreeing this transfer so early in the summer gives us ample time to plan for next season without him."

Jamie joined Argyle from Exeter City, then a non-league side, in January 2008, having begun his career with Wimbledon before they became MK Dons.

He made his Pilgrims' debut the following month, coming on as a substitute against Barnsley and scoring twice - two of 16 career goals while at Home Park.

That was the first of 102 league and cup matches for Argyle in two and a half seasons, his last appearance being in the match last month when Newcastle's 2-0 victory at Home Park relegated the Pilgrims to League One.

He was a virtual ever-present in his only two full seasons at Home Park and, at the end of each, was twice runner-up in the fans' vote for Argyle Player of the Season, to Romain Larrieu and Carl Fletcher. Plymouth Official Site
