ANSA - BRIATORE WANTS LIPPI?

ANSA October 19 - Former Renault Formula One boss Flavio Briatore is dreaming of luring ex-Italy coach Marcello Lippi to Queens Park Rangers if the London club are promoted to the Premier League.

Speaking to Italian magazine Chi, on the newsstands Wednesday, the flamboyant ex-F1 manager said: "We're top of the Championship (second division) and if we're promoted, I have a dream: Marcello Lippi".

Briatore owns 70% of QPR along with his friend, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, and recently said he wants no other interest in sport because he's enjoying bringing up his baby son Falco with ex-showgirl wife Elisabetta Gregoraci.

The reformed playboy, 60, was banned for life last year for the infamous 2008 Singapore Grand Prix 'Crashgate' but the ban was subsequently overturned and the media said he could have returned in a couple of years if he had wanted.

Lippi, 62, who won five Serie A titles and a Champions League trophy with Juventus before taking Italy to World Cup glory in Germany in 2006, has been out of work since the Azzurri's dismal showing at this summer's World Cup in South Africa.

The cigar-smoking 'Tuscan Tactician' was recently linked to a possible move to AS Roma as the Roman side got off to a poor start in Italy's top flight. Report
