AIRBUS UK Broughton have signed young goalkeeper Niki-Lee Bulmer, who has just been released by Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers.

A local lad from the Chester area, the 19-year-old has penned an 18-month contract with the Wingmakers, who beat a number of sides to his signature including Chester.

Bulmer started his career at Wrexham before he was sold to Manchester United as an 11-year-old and remained at Old Trafford until he was 16 before joining QPR, where he was a regular in the Under-18s.

Bulmer, who spent a period on-loan at Hayes & Yeading this season, is part of manager Craig Harrison's longer term plans and, with Callum Hawthorne likely to go out on loan to the Huws Gray Alliance and an injury to Chris Doran, will provide competition for current number one gloveman Kristian Rogers.

Despite signing after the closure of the transfer window, Bulmer is eligible to play as he was a free agent. Bulmer's 18-month deal will also protect Airbus as he is highly tipped to go back into League Football in the near future.
