Yann Tear/Fulham Chronicle - Warnocks warns QPR players about future
- NEIL Warnock says there are no guarantees that any of the players involved in this year's promotion push will start next season.
- The QPR boss says everyone will begin with a clean slate in pre-season training and there is no question of giving first crack to those who are on the verge of taking the team to the top flight.
- "Pre-season it starts again," Warnock said. "Whoever's training, they have to get in the team. It starts all over again basically."
- Warnock, who met Flavio Briatore and Gianni Paladini last week to discuss strategies for next season, says no hard and fast decisions have been taken yet about who stays and who goes, or the number of new recruits needed.
- He added: "I told them about the type of player I'm looking for, but I don't want to start talking about the number of players we should bring in until we know where we are.
- "We need quite a number of players for the squad though. We need to fill the 25 places.
- "Obviously players will be leaving as well, but let's get there first before we have a fuller discussion." Fulham Chronicle

Yann Tear/Fulham Chronicle - QPR boss makes Matt Connolly admission
- NEIL Warnock admits Matt Connolly has been struggling to get back into the QPR squad because his confidence has simply nosedived.
- The defender was a permanent fixture earlier in the season alongside Kaspars Gorkss, but the former Arsenal player has not even earned a place on the bench in recent games – finding himself behind Gorkss, Fitz Hall and Danny Shittu in the pecking order.
- But the former Arsenal youngster returns to the squad for tonight's trip to Barnsely due to doubts over the fitness of Shittu.
- "Matt Connolly's fit, but obviously he's just lost a little bit of confidence and he's got to get it back," said QPR boss Warnock. "He has to work hard in training to get it back.
- "I think he had a nightmare game against Leicester last month, even though we won, and since then really, he's just been trying to get his confidence back.
- "Little things he'd normally do well will come back. It's a long season and he's played a lot of games and you never know how it's going to affect some people."

MIRROR - QPR striker promises not to lose it like Rory McIlroy
- QPR's squad watched Rory McIlroy blow his Masters lead on Sunday night - but striker Tommy Smith says his side won’t do the same in the Championship.
- Neil Warnock’s squad stayed up north after their shock 4-1 defeat to Sc**thorpe on Sunday, a result which cost them any chance of sealing promotion against Barnsley tonight.
- But after watching McIlroy finish ten shots behind Charl Schwartzel having started the final round of the Masters with a four shot lead, Smith is determined Rangers won’t waste their nine point advantage as they look to return to the top flight after a 15-year absence.
- “We all watched the golf together and I felt so sorry for McIlroy,” said Smith.
- “And the plan for us now is to wrap up promotion as quickly as we can, and to make sure that we don’t relax too much.

“If you think it’s finished then that’s when you lose games. We will go into the game against Barnsley fully prepared and then we want to wrap up promotion, hopefully against Derby next Monday.
- “We do have a big margin, but the gaffer makes sure we don’t look too far ahead.
- “Having said that, though, QPR was an established Premier League club and we recognise that we should be in that position again.” Mirror

SKYSPORTS - Vine open to Dons switch
Former Luton man could make permanent switch in summerBy Chris Galea. Last Updated: April 11, 2011

....MK Dons loan star Rowan Vine has not ruled out making a permanent switch from QPR this summer.
- The 28-year-old has been in impressive form for the Dons since joining in January and has helped propel them into the League One play-off places.
- However, the former Luton striker believes that his long-term future depends on whether QPR want to keep him or not.
- .He told skysports.com: "It is a great club and I have been very impressed with everything since joining, with a great set of lads and the coaching staff are brilliant too.
- "It is a great club with a lot of enthusiasm around the place and it would be a great place to come and play football on a permanent basis.
- "Obviously, I've still got another year left at QPR after this one, so I'm not sure where my future lies to be honest.
- "Only a few months ago I was training with other teams and I just needed to go out and get some games and I'm really pleased that MK Dons gave me that opportunity.
- "I've been playing regularly for the past month or so now and back to the level where I was before the injury, which makes me very happy." Skysports
