Matt Scot/The Digger - The Guardian re Amit Bhatia Possible Renewed Bid for QPR or Interest in Millwall
"...Millwall might have been the next billionaire-owned football club, but the trail has run cold. Lakshmi Mittal's son-in-law, Amit Bhatia, quit the board of Queens Park Rangers last month ostensibly in protest at the rise in ticket prices (of up to 73% a match). But he may have had another motive: a bid for another club. Bhatia is understood to be the money behind the Renewal company which is trying to introduce a masterplan for "London's Sporting Village" around the Den. But the masterstroke would have been to buy Millwall and despite a lot of preliminary work, so far there have been no direct talks. Digger hears the reason for that may be that Bhatia is preparing a fresh bid to take over QPR. He did not return a call yesterday but watch this space. Guardian

Paul Warburton/Fulham Chronicle - Rangers back in for Fulham frontman
- QPR are set to play a trump card by offering £3million Andy Johnson a chance to renew his Premiership career in west London – providing he moves up the road.
- The Fulham striker has shot up the pecking order on boss Neil Warnock’s list after attempts to sign Danny Graham or Steve Morison bit the dust this week.
- Chronicle sport has learned Warnock is furious funds to sign the last two arrived only after they went to Swansea and Norwich instead – both promoted behind the Championship winners.
- But the manager’s frustration will be eased if he lures the former England striker away from Craven Cottage after a fitful last campaign.
- Johnson made a belated entry following injury – only to be dropped as Bobby Zamora, Mousa Dembele and later Eidur Gudjohnsen battled for striker roles.
- Former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson at West Brom is a rival for the 30-year-old's signature – but Rangers are aware the forward would prefer to stay in London rather than uproot his family to the midlands. Fulham Chronicle
QPR Pre-Season Friendly vs Elburton Villa...
-Plymouth Herald - Elburton to face QPR in pre-season
- Elburton Villa have confirmed they will host newly-promoted Premier League side Queens Park Rangers at Haye Road on Thursday, July 28.
- Neil Warnock's men will visit the Plymouth club as part of their pre-season tour of the South West, which also includes fixtures against Bodmin Town, Tavistock, Saltash United and Truro City, plus Plymouth Argyle.
- It will be QPR's second successive tour of the South West as the ex-Pilgrims boss prepares his side for a gruelling first season back in the Premier League.
- Elburton will be expecting a large crowd when the Championship winners visit.
- It will also be a chance for Elburton's players to face top opposition.
- Warnock has confirmed that QPR are likely to field a team featuring a mixture of both experience and youth as they prepare for the 2011/12 season.
- Former Argyle players Akos Buzsaky and Jamie Mackie, who moved to the London club in January 2008 and May 2010 respectively, could feature. Although the fixture may come too soon for Mackie, who is still recovering from a broken leg he sustained against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup in January. This is Plymouth
