HIGH PRAISE FOR GIANNI PALADINI FROM EX-QPR KEITH CURLE
From a Profile of and Interview with New Notts County Manager, Keith Curle Sheffield Telegraph/James Shield "Happy man: Keith Curle is pleased to be a boss again"
Journalist James Shield writes "QPR’s return to the top flight was the subject of a recent BBC documentary - “The Four Year Plan” - which painted a less than flattering picture of then chairman Gianni Paladini’s reign. Curle, though, has an altogether different take on the larger than life Italian.
“When Gianni left QPR, the heartbeat of the club went as well,” he said.
-- “People have a certain idea about what he was like but he was a focal point and a figurehead. He had agents and representatives of this player and that player constantly telephoning him but he was really good at filtering out what those of us on the football side needed to know and all of the superfluous stuff that would just get in the way....” Sheffield Telegraph

Jacob Murtagh - Dyer handed QPR lifeline
MARK Hughes has handed Kieron Dyer the chance to prove his fitness at QPR.
The midfielder lasted just seven minutes of his Rs debut against Bolton on the opening day of the season before being stretchered off with a foot injury.
Dyer suffered a further setback when he was on his crocked on his comeback playing in a reserve game against Spurs in December, which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
However, new boss Hughes is ready to offer the 33-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, a Loftus Road lifeline.
He said: “We are hoping he will be fit and ready for pre-season and has the chance to make the 25-man squad.” Fulham Chronicle
LINESMAN BOB POLLACK DROPPED

Linesman dropped after missing Queens Park Rangers 'goal'
By Matt Law, Reporter[/b]
Bob Pollock, the linesman who failed to award Queens Park Rangers a clear 'goal' against Bolton Wanderers earlier this month, has been dropped from all Premier League and Football League games this weekend.
The assistant failed to spot R's defender Clint Hill heading over the line, citing an obstructed view as the reason for his inability to spot the incident.
The match ended 2-1 to Bolton, and could ultimately cost QPR a place in the Premier League next season.
Referee Martin Atkinson, who was in charge of the match, has escaped punishment and will officiate the match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

MIRROR/Alan Nixon - Linesman dropped from Prem AND Football League over no-goal gaffe
Bob Pollock - the linesman who missed QPR’s ‘goal’ against Bolton earlier this month - is off the list for Premier League and Football League games this weekend.
The assistant missed the fact that Clint Hill’s header had gone over the line at Bolton because he had an obstructed view, and is now paying the penalty.
Many referees get demoted to a lower level after a high-profile mistake, but Pollock has been dropped completely for the potentially costly slip.
The match between two of the clubs at the heart of the fight to avoid relegation from the top flight, ended as a 2-1 Bolton victory.
Referee Martin Atkinson, who was in charge of the game, has escaped any form of punishment, and has even been awarded the plum game between Chelsea and Tottenham.
Atkinson had a sighting of the Hill 'goal' but relied on Pollock to signal it had crossed the line - as TV replays clearly showed within seconds. Mirror
